Guilded - community chat ١٧+

I am loving this new chat platform for gamers design by gamers.

So many great features, I just don’t know where to start. Like the ability to be able to “Whisper” to another member in a voice lobby and the ability to prioritize your voice over others in a voice lobby is nice as well. The inclusion of a calendar right in the server is super helpful for organizing events and reminding your members to attend. Another favorite is the inclusion for members of your server to coordinate their availability to play on a planner. I would love for bigger text on the mobile devices and just more options for mobile, but overall I am loving this new platform and prefer it over Discord by a mile. Guilded is just more user friendly and far less clutter than the layout of your channels on Discord. Content creators and fellow gamers, you re just going to fall in love with Guilded…. Just saying :-)

I love the app. I originally started looking into it as a Discord alternative but I found so much more. It offers pretty much everything Discord does plus some, including several features that would be locked behind nitro and more. Now for the nitpicking. The concept of “threads” is often very annoying. I would really like to see some sort of reply system that doesn’t create a new chat room every time. Next up, it’s mildly annoying that everything has to be unique, I wanted a certain name for my server but it was taken. When I went to see who took it, it was an empty server that was created about a month or so prior and had one member (the owner) and only the default #general chatroom. Would be nice if there was a system where if the server wasn’t active for a month, it could lose its custom name. Either that or do away with names being required to be unique entirely. In addition, I’d love to be able to access my camera roll and my albums. Not all of the pictures load in all the time, and if I want to post something older, I have to scroll for several minutes. Lastly, I’m really hoping that all the settings become editable on mobile soon. Ik they will be eventually, but anyone who downloads this should know that they will need to be popping on to the desktop version occasionally. Anyway, looking forward to using this app. Has an excellent future ahead of it and I can’t wait!

I love how similar to discord this is, only problem I see is not enough growth yet. Some of the communities I’m in on discord don’t have a guilded alternative and that’s partially due to discord’s popularity but if discord ends up making more bad decisions like they’ve been doing I can see guilded completely overtaking them long term. My only gripes about the app itself is customization and granted most of that is aesthetic such as the custom backgrounds I got on discord but that’s really about it, I haven’t used it for very long and me and my partner mostly just have it setup as a backup in case discord implements that social credit system they’ve been talking about but if not we may just stick with the devil we know unless guilded ends up becoming more mainstream.
