Fretboard App is Great!

I love this app! I've been playing for a while, but absolutely not an expert. I have been trying to find something to help with finding notes along the fretboard, and this is it! It is a great app and has helped me immensely! I can now name any note anywhere along the fretboard in a split second. Anytime I find myself in a waiting room or standing in line or just waiting on someone I pull out my phone and practice with this app.

Ok for free

I don't wan't to complain about a free app, and this is fine for what it does, but it's a one trick pony. It only has one mode, where it moves a dot around a fretboard and you choose the note from a few possibilities. Each "game" is 20 tries, then it tells you how many you got right and how long it took. The end. It could be a lot more helpful with additional modes, like a single string mode, or one where it gives you a note and you identify all the spots it occurs on the fretboard, or a training mode where it teaches you first instead of only quizzing. It might be useful to keep a record of your scores to track improvement, or at least a best time to beat.

So, it's not bad but it could be a little better with a few more features.

Great Way To Practice During Lunch

This is pretty much exactly as I hoped it would be - a simple, easy to use app that tests your knowledge of note names all over the fretboard. Of course it could be improved, as other reviews point out, but for a free app it's not half bad as a tool for a productive practice during lunch on a dirty construction site (where I work and wouldn't dream of bringing in even my travel guitar.) So now how about an app that asks you to build chords on a digital fretboard? Select the notes and you score points for building the requested chord...
