Needs serious updating and debugging
Use this on iPad mini and used to work really well. However since iOS 8 have had many issues that never seem to get resolved. Tonight I placed a call and part way thru the conversation Captel logged me out and would never log back in. When I finally ended the call I had to hard quit the iPad before Captel would release. Then I discovered it didn't even register or save my call. Time for Captel to update etc and fix these issues.
This app has always been unreliable for incoming calls on my Samsung cell phone, so people just stop calling. I have followed their app support directions to the "T". The Hamilton app simply fails to work as they claim, and I don't expect it will be any more useful on the new iPhone that I will be buying this year. I have given them the benefit of time (2 +/- years) to make this a viable app for the deaf and hearing impaired community, but Hamilton Support has been unable to fix things - I have tried everything that they have suggested - to the point of utter exasperation. Needless to say,I have had it with Hamilton. IMHO, this App is a fraud and an insult to the hearing impaired community... not worth your time.
I got this app so my 7 year old son can talk on the phone. He has 2 types of hearing loss, each ear is different. One ear is moderate and the other ear is severe. I used it for the first time today on iPhone 6 Plus. No issues with logging in as previous reviews mentioned. The only issue was with the CapTel person either lagging about 10-20 words or the app causing additional lag time. I suspect it's the app as suddenly the words would be all there. I live in the same town as the Relay provider Hamilton.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
