Hangtight: Social Passport 9+

Trying to be social online is so draining for me. Doing it in real life is a monumental challenge. Feel like current social apps don’t make it easy for me to know what my friends want to do because most of what I see is fun pictures of what they already did. It makes me feel left out and disconnected from people. I think this app is trying to address that issue head on. Like, it’s cool to get on and see all of the people who I would want to see in real life and be able to actually plan stuff to do. I guess it’s still pretty new because I wasn’t familiar with this concept nor were my friends. Would be cool for hangtight to like plan my weekends for me ahead of time so that I don’t have to plan it at the last minute. Like just take my preferences and surprise me with things to do with the people I like. And also recommend new places to try out, like restaurants (I’m a foodie)! Almost makes me think of this like a friend crm or something like that. Either way, I already used it for a few plans with some friends to do karaoke, grab lunch, and also plan a group movie night to watch Barbie. So cool how fast it brings it all together! On a different note, I submitted some feedback to the app developers on a few snags and feature suggestions, and they were quick to respond. Excited to see how the app evolves over the coming months.

This Hangtight app is helping me keep better track of my different group chats and makes it so easy to figure out why we want to do and when. Usually this has been a problematic and time-consuming process but now it’s so seamless here. I’ve tried this app at my church and it’s become so easy to gather my friends there for prayer circle and also Bible study. My son also started using it for his youth group. I’m also part of a local book club and I’ve started using it there to keep better track of when we’re getting together and also share updates and ideas in the message threads. Might also use it for my friends who like to go hiking! Some quick feedback would be to think about collecting more personal preferences and hobbies. The current ones are okay but I think you’re missing out on some obvious ones like dodgeball, book clubs, prayer groups, etc. I’d also love to see the app available in other languages. I have a lot of friends who speak Spanish and while this app is intuitive enough for anyone to use in English, it would be so much better to enable it for native Spanish speakers. Just an idea! 😉

This app really does streamline the process of planning activities with friends and family, whether it’s just brunch with a few friends or planning an out-of-state vacation. It’s easy to add people, pick a place, and choose a time when everyone is available. The in-app messenger makes it even more convenient to coordinate with others; you can even make payments from within it if you need to split a bill with friends when you’re out somewhere. As a side note, I’ve found myself using the built-in messenger just to chat with friends instead of texting because I like the interface, it’s fun to use, and it has so many features by itself. Overall, this app is very well thought out, and I wish I’d found it sooner. I’ll be continuing to use it for planning my social outings.
