Best writing courses I’ve ever taken
After years of wasting time in unhelpful critique-based writing classes, I’m so happy to have found something that actually works! I was introduced to HappyWriter through their plotting challenge and it did more for me in a couple of weeks than years of formal classes. I went from struggling to create anything more than a general idea to fully understanding the mechanics of how plot works and producing a complete novel plot WITHIN FIVE DAYS.
The community is supportive, kind, and very positive. The mods and admins are very responsive, engaged, and helpful. You can tell that they genuinely care about the site in a way you just don’t see on other social media platforms.
As far as the actual app goes: It’s very easy to use and, unlike most social media, most of my feed is in chronological order. I still use the associated website for video and coursework but IMO the social media portion is much better in app.
Changed my life!
This app and community have changed my writing and social life forever! A fantastic place to network with other writers from beginner to advanced and meet people who know the industry. Truly the creative space I’ve been missing with more value than you’ll ever get from an MFA, including courses in a wide variety of areas (outlining, world building, revising, etc), constructive workshops, and social groups. Highly recommend!
Fun AND productive social media app
The HappyWriter app makes it so easy to access the fun and supportive HappyWriter community. I love being able to watch the classes and catch up on the social updates from anywhere, even while waiting around in my car—this makes me way more productive than other social media.
