Harriet Tubman was the best known conductor in the Underground Railroad, a secret network of people who helped escaping slaves reach freedom. It was dangerous and illegal work for everyone involved. This dramatic audio tour leads you along the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway on Maryland's Eastern Shore. It takes you through landscapes that Tubman knew as a slave and from which she fled as a young woman. Thousands of slaves escaped bondage in years leading up to the Civil War. What made Tubman remarkable was her repeated returns as a fugitive to rescue family and friends. This moving soundtrack will inspire you to visit the land of Tubman's birth and experience it for yourself.

Excellent narrated driving tour
This ap gives is an excellent narrated driving tour through the Maryland countryside with the history of the area and life of Harriet Tubman.
Great app for a wonderful tour
First and foremost, my wife and I recently completed the Harriet Tubman driving tour and I wasn't expecting much, just tagged along because my wife really wanted to do it. I have to admit, I was genuinely touched by the end. Great experience.
However, I'm not reviewing the tour, I'm reviewing this companion app. I didn't know it existed until after we had purchased the audio disk series for $5.00. So, we tried both and I don't regret buying the audio CD. The app follows the tour so well, it really enhances the experience as you don't have to guess if you are on the right track on the CD. There is no pausing and resuming. It's great.
The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is because I had numerous problems scrolling down on some of the screens. I had to jump around thru the various menus to get to a point where I could scroll down to move along with the tour. The other issue was when you press the button to play the audio track, the pause icon is displayed. When the track is over, the pause icon remains until you press the button again. It would really help if the icon changed back when the audio clip was over.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
