Description
With HealthMap's Outbreaks Near Me application, you have all of HealthMap's latest real-time disease outbreak information at your fingertips. Open the app and see all current outbreaks in your neighborhood, including news about H1N1 influenza ( swine flu ). Search and browse outbreak reports on the interactive map, and set up the app to alert you with a notice automatically whenever an outbreak is occurring in your area. If you spy an outbreak, be the first to report it using the app's unique outbreak reporting feature. You will get credit as a disease detective and your find will be featured on HealthMap's website (www.HealthMap.org).

It’s a nice app, or at least it would be a good app if half the headlines I tried to open didn’t pop up an error. It says “Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request.”
Not fully developed app
The ratings appear suspect. All short, five star, and written on the same day.
Does not support landscape view.
On bottom menu if you click news it gives a list of stories, but if you select one of the headlines the only way to read it is either moving the item left and right within your screen or double clicking the screen to reduce the article to a nearly unreadable size that fits the screen. No Reader available.
If you search the map the only way to get out of search mode, remove the keyboard, and get back to the bottom menu is to find a pin, click on it, then hit the Back button on the top.
I really don't see how Apple allowed this app to be available in the App Store.
Good Free, Informative App
Helpful if you travel to 3rd and even 2nd world countries, you can check current health/disease issues. Also good to check the area where you live.
