HeartPeace helps you to meditate by providing real-time feedback about your inner peace.
The feedback is provided by measuring your cardiac coherence using heart rate variability analysis algorithms that determine your parasympathetic vs sympathetic nervous system activation. Therefore, a heart rate monitor is required.
You can use the back camera as a heart rate monitor but it's recommended to use a BLE heart rate monitor because they are more accurate, allow more freedom of movement, work while the screen is turned off and consume less battery. More info about compatible monitors in settings.
The feedback is given by displaying an animation that resembles your inner state. The more inner peace, the bigger, slower, and blueish the animation will be.
Feedback is also presented using sounds so headphones are recommended, if you have low inner peace you will hear a crowd sound but if your inner peace is high you will hear monks meditating and deep sounds.
To better focus on breathing is advised to sit down, use headphones, and close your eyes to minimize distractions.
The app has option to integrate with the Health app by storing sessions as mindfulness sessions.

You can select in preferences the back camera to measure heart rate from your finger. Place your finger gently over the back camera and flash and try not to move it much.
Although the camera heart rate monitor works fine it's recommended to use a BLE heart rate monitor because it's more accurate, allows more freedom of movement, consumes less battery, and works while the screen is turned off.
Only heart rate monitors that accurately measure R-R intervals and have Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) are supported.

One of the best apps I’ve ever used
For anybody looking for an app to help them relax, improve their heart rate variability, or help them get into meditation when they haven’t been able to do it before, this is the one for you. This app is so much simpler than virtually any other biofeedback app I’ve ever used, and yet it is one of the best apps on my phone. I have achieved easily double the HRV score with this app that I do with others. The app provides most of the functionality for free, and the premium upgrade is a one time 7 dollar charge. This is orders of magnitude cheaper than other apps that I use that are far less useful. I would, in fact, happily pay seven dollars a month for this app! Thank you so much for making it. I’m sorry that it hasn’t been widely adopted, but you have really helped me to find a way to relax myself in just a couple minutes throughout the day. I’ve never found meditation to be helpful, and I’ve never been able to get into it. But this app is engaging from the very beginning simply because of the interactivity and the immediate feedback you get from your HRV score.
R-R interval export & works well with CorSense
Developer responded to request for R-R interval export and promptly included this functionality in the latest update. I have always like this app. The active development of this app, the addition of live charts and ability to examine specific measurements in the charts in History is tremendous. Very simple and yet includes full, professional HRV Biofeedback functionality that is to the highest standards. Recently discovered the app has ability to seamlessly connect to CorSense and detect clean, stable data from it. Fantastic as I was struggling to use CorSense even with EliteHRV.
Latest update was fantastic
The app feels polished now, and the history section, with analytics, is great. I’m using the free version still; it definitely is worth a download... it’s not one of those apps where the free mode is too restricted. Might end up paying for the upgrade though.
I’d appreciate a bit more customization and explanation. What is heart peace, and how is it related to HRV? Which is the best value Bluetooth HR monitor? Can I customize the positive and negative feedback sounds?
Anyway, download the app! It’s a great tool for measuring and training HRV.

Thank you very much for your feedback. For next release I'll make a better job at explaining the collected metrics and how they are related.
Also, now that the app works in the background with BLE monitors, I would like to support in the future creating custom audio presets so you can the create the perfect audio preset for activities other than meditation.
The best Bluetooth HR monitor in my opinion is the Polar H9 although the CooSpo H6 looks like a great more affordable alternative.
