The Official App of the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum features a detailed map of the property, and includes six categories: An overview of the House and Museum, Our cats, a garden tour, a comprehensive description of
Hemingway’s years in Key West, an overview and synopsis of Hemingway’s
writing, and descriptions of movies based on Hemingway novels. The cat tour
includes photographs and names of all the Hemingway cats, including the famous polydactyl felines that reside permanently on the property. The garden tour provides detailed descriptions of all the magnificent flora in the lush tropical
Hemingway gardens. The Hemingway years, books, and movies tours provide an extensive and meticulous overview of the life and works of Hemingway,
particularly during his years in Key West. Whether you decide to take the guided House and Museum tour, or self-tour the property, the App provides thorough review and commentary, accompanied by a rich photographic collection, on every aspect of this world-famous historical property.

Ratings and Reviews
This application needs work
The developer has done a good job of collecting photographs of the objects inside the Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West, Florida, as well as the garden and pictures of the current group of resident cats. However, deficiencies in the program make the app cumbersome and difficult to use. The main page asks you select a language by clicking on a country flag before entering the app with every use - a properly constructed app would remember the selection automatically. Clicking on the language link takes you to the main menu with five tabs for photos of the home, garden, information on Ernest Hemingway and his books, and the cats. The house tab takes you to a menu to select photos of objects on the first and second floors of the house and the separate writing studio. If you click on the link for say the living room, another page comes up with each object in the room marked by a numbered circle that you can select by touching. Once you select a numbered item, the program takes you to the corresponding object. However, if you touch the link titled “back,", the program returns to the “welcome” page, and you have to start all over again by selecting a language, clicking on the appropriate selection tab, etc. This is a complete nuisance and really makes using the app a complete chore rather than a pleasure. This app has promise but is pricey at almost $10, so I would not recommend purchasing it until it is improved.
Pretty pictures, terrible app
This app has many pretty pictures from inside the house and from the gardens. There is no information about the location of the museum or museum hours or admission fee. The descriptions of the pictures are littered with typographical errors making them very difficult to read.
Terrific way to remember your visit
This is a terrific way to remember your visit and enhance your time there. It is packed full of information and photos about Hemingway, the house, the grounds, his books and the cats. My favorite part is the section devoted to the resident cats. I was able to identify the friendly kitty that decided to sit on my lap. It was Liz Taylor! (The foundation continues the tradition of naming cats after famous people as Hemingway himself did). This app is the best souvenir of my visit!
