The app has definitely gotten better since the new look/update. We love the multiple ways to communicate with customer service and banking locations through the app, BUT it’s still screams, “I was made by a white guy, that is older, and not keen to trends.” I apologize for my bluntness, but I am autistic, and I work in the visual communications field, so I have high expectations, when it comes to technology and managing my money. We have been banking with HFCU for well over a decade, and it took a really long time for the update to happen to begin with, and that was disappointing as well. Lastly, it still comes off, like you’re trying to punish poor people, instead of deterring behaviors, when it comes to overdrafts, and things of that nature. We’ve got to get away from this “Republican” kind of business practices, and try a more modern approach to banking and people. Thanks.

  • Deposit restrictions and bug issues

I’ve been with this bank 10+ years and now can’t use mobile deposit due to new restrictions and can’t even get in the app due to bug issues. $3000 in deposits and over 10+ years you can’t tell me I haven’t had $3000+ in deposits to use this feature?!?!? Seriously, you don’t want my deposits? Out of state and no shared branches around means I can’t use my account. The apps been buggy and locked me out due to bug issues and now will only show login in then turns everything blank but password reset or sign up. Or if it even it lets you get to the password then it’s only the password section and everything blank but reset and sign up so you can’t even sign in the app (deleted it, updated it, restated phone, deleted it again and nothing worked). Need to not have deposit restrictions on long time customers. Those deposits went to another bank.

  • Love the new app!

This app has made my life 1000% easier!! I came back into my review as I see a lot of people are writing negative information about this app. First thing I want to mention is this app is not another junk gadget that you google phone(droid) has allowed on they system. This app was well thought about and it took time to figure out what they wanted. Secondly, the more you add to an app the slower it is as your phone can only be as strong as it's hardware and your signal strength. Stop putting bad things in the reviews and go to the website and message HFCU them as they are in the implementation phase so now is the time to ask for fixes and changes through them not on here. I have implemented a fix already.

95% of the time the transactions are seamless. Info shows up usually within a couple minutes cards can be completely controlled with the app and depending on phone has face recognition. Very easy to check your accounts and see the transactions. Sometimes the site is down for maintenance and if you rely on your phone or device to control your account it can be a little aggravating. However maintenance does not usually take long and I believe is usually done in the late evening. Mostly satisfied with the app and overall glad I have it and the ease of accessing my account at the touch of my fingertips. Also very easy to transfer funds from account to account.

  • HFCU Big Business

I have been with HFCU for over 30 years. I was with them back when they were WFCU. Back then they were more like a family and was willing to go the extra mile. I recall them indicating at one time that they would never “sale out”. Alas the lure of big money was too much and it is definitely apparent that there has been a major paradigm shift. Especially in customer service. It should be noted, that my general observation about HFCU stems from overall dissatisfaction on all the changes that have been made through the years. I am in excellent financial standing and am not venting due to any particular disagreement with HFCU. I feel that my relationship with HFCU has ran its course and I have begun looking for another credit union that is small, hungry and willing to still go the extra mile for their customers.

  • Good app with a bad feature

    Hfcu user

The app is pretty nice except for one very annoying feature. I use another app to keep track of my spending and to balance my account. If I log into hfcu app and the flip over to my checkbook app, the hfcu app logs me out. This makes it a real pain to balance my account. If I have multiple things clear I have to either write them on paper or log in each time in order to balance my account in my other app. Hfcu says is a security feature. It would be better to put a timeout on it to log out after like 2 min or something. Thus a 5 star rating dropped to a 3.....
