Caregiver Notifications When:

Together, you can explore the safe and secure data to track Mom's adherence over time and ensure she is taking what she needs, when she needs it.

The Hero app requires a Hero in-home medication dispenser plus active membership to function properly. It does not work as a stand-alone application.

App and Machine Do Not Have the Same Time Zone

The machine does not have my correct time zone as an option. For example, the machine says the time is 7:30 pm but my time zone is at 2:30 pm. So if I schedule to take the medicine at 9:30 pm, the machine will tell me it’s time to take the dose in two hours (when in fact it’s supposed to be taken in 7 hours). I tried changing the time zone to the correct one in the settings under preferences, but my time zone is not an option to choose from. It has other time zones on the machine, but not the one I’m in. So as a temporary fix, I had to use whatever time zone is on the machine to set it to give the dose correctly. But the recording of the dose is now inaccurate. Although I took the medicine at 9:30 pm for example based on my time zone, the app is recording that I took it around 2:30 am. I hope their technicians or engineers or developers can fix this problem. Thank you.

Life Changer

I have been waiting for the Hero since it was first introduced. We have now been using it for over a year. This pill dispensing tool has made our lives so much easier! No more worries. No more hours to spend managing pills from ordering, organizing, remembering, reminding, and dispensing. The Hero does most all of it for us. It’s a time saver and most likely a life saver. My mom used to forget if she had taken her pills, the day of the week it is, and therefore has mistakingly taken a double dose or skipped altogether. Not only has the Hero taken away the guessing game for her, it has made her healthier because she takes her meds the exact same time everyday. Customer Service is there when you need them and they know the Hero like the back of their hand and have answers. I’m not sure how we would manage without the Hero. We are so grateful.

Needs actual control

The biggest problem with the app is it doesn’t let you actually control the machine. My mother sometimes presses the wrong buttons and “skips” her medication dispensing. I should be able to go into the app and tell the machine to dispense the skipped meds. Or to do a manual dispensing if necessary. But none of this is possible in the app; only on the machine itself. And trying to talk a person with dementia through the menus on the machine is extremely difficult. Why can’t I do all this from the app?

Hi Tokyo, thanks for the feedback. Dispensing must be confirmed using the dispenser for safety purposes, e.g. to ensure no one else accidentally messes with or takes your medication while you're in another room interacting with the app. That said, this is a comment we often receive and we are actively looking into alternative solutions!
