Tap on almost anything in this stellar hidden object game and you might giggle when you realize voice actors supplied almost all the sound effects. Because the game has no time limit, you’re free to relax and fully explore every homespun level and discover all the strange and endearing secrets, like tapping on a snake to pop a chicken out of its mouth.

I’ve been loving this game for years. I take a break after completing all the challenges and come back to it and often find new details I’d missed before. I’m DYING for a new level (or three), but I’m a fan forever. I’ve even found jigsaw puzzles by the artist and they are among my few prized possessions. I love this artist, and you will too.

  • MASTERPIECE!

The things that make this game special are the crisp black and white inkpen illustrations that stave off eye fatigue while endlessly searching through the details, the clever little riddles that accompany the key and serve as helpful hints to finding the objects, the charming lo-fi sounds programmed to respond to the touch of every detail of the illustration (I love the stupid “beep” of car horns or the silly “help” of the shipwrecked), the inventive little mechanisms that evolve with each new level to make the scenes interactive and slightly more challenging, and the overall humorous tone of this world of village idiots. I love that little jokes like the mushroom and the blueberry carry over multiple levels and that one factory employee requires hanging out by a tire fire to get her nicotine fix. I finished the game over a boring three day weekend and now I am in mourning because I know it’s over and they aren’t making more levels. Perhaps this world doesn’t deserve more levels of this incredible game!

  • Many objects are hidden entirely out of view.

I’m disappointed that many of the hidden objects/people are hidden out of view until its location is interacted with by touching the screen. For example, a hidden person or object is often completely obscured behind a door, bush, rock, plant or one of many other possible objects that require you to touch in order to “move it out of the way” in order to find the hidden object behind it. I want to be able to find the hidden objects by closely looking around the image, not by randomly touching dozens and dozens of moveable objects in the hopes that a hidden object is behind one of them or by needing to constantly rely on hints. It’s not a fun challenge; it’s just tedious and boring. I generally like the art style and I feel that it has good potential for being a game about finding hidden objects. Unfortunately, I primarily played with the audio muted because the amateurish style was annoying to listen to after a few minutes. Overall, I’m just disappointed that so many of the hidden objects cannot be found by simply looking at the image. For this reason, I do not recommend this game.

  • Oh, how I adore Hidden Folks 🤍

It may very well be the perfect game! The genius and straight-up craftsmanship in the detail and originality of the art, the wonderfully wandering exploration of every odd yet familiar landscape and each one cleverly layered with quirk and humor, meeting all of the equally strange and lovable creatures that inhabit these worlds, the simple secreted treats and overall wabi sabi that make it brilliantly engaging and enjoyable for those of us who relish such things... which I absolutely do. Above all, it’s undeniably one-of-a-kind and that is increasingly rare in these crazy (yet somehow still dull) days... I can only imagine the volume of blood, sweat and tears that went into the entire Hidden Folks process... I’m sure it was a profound labor of love for everyone involved, as well as an exercise in sheer force of will, but I am personally SO grateful to the creators for blessing us with this gem of a game. Thank you all!I look forward to seeing what other weirdness you folks get into...xox

  • Engaging Gameplay with Interactive and Stunningly Unique Artwork - My go-to bedtime app!

I am not one to leave reviews but being I am currently working my way through a second play through of the game - and still thoroughly enjoying the experience - I had to give praise where it is due. It is so hard to find the perfect hidden object game but Hidden Folks absolutely nails it. It has the perfect blend of minigames baked within every few levels and dry, flat humor that is bound to make you breathe hard through your nose. The city scene is truly a masterpiece, if I could pdf the map to print for my wall I would. The artwork is simply that enjoyable throughout the game; even though simple in concept, the level of detail is truly astonishing. I could stare at them for hours and still find something happening! If you’re looking for a game that will satisfy that “itch” for a perfect app, this is for you. The amount of passion, time, and effort put into each level is evident down to the individual descriptions of objects. To the developers - it is noticed and it is GREATLY appreciated!!The people that get it, get it. The developers behind this app CLEARLY do.This is a console quality/worthy game that I would expect to see from a high budget studio, the low price of the app is beyond fair for the experience the app provides. I sincerely hope the team has plans for releasing additional maps or a second edition. :)

  • Refreshing take on hidden object puzzles!

This is definitely challenging but still so enjoyable to play!Love the added element of interactivity to open doors, dig in snow piles, pressing buttons and shifting objects in order to unearth & find the object you are looking for. I enjoy just opening & tapping on things just to discover what all can be manipulated. The clues, scenes & sounds are so creative, clever & humorous. One thing I feel that would totally sky rocket this game to the another level and that I would absolutely LOVE to see would be the ability for players to create their own custom list of hidden objects (with customized clues) to find and then challenge other players to find them. The custom challenges could be made by forwarding to friends or by being accessed by anyone on a server. Those custom challenges could even be rated by other players. Filters & ability for players to flag could be used to ensure inappropriate language is not used in the clues. I think this would vastly increase the exposure, playability & revenue for this game. Revenue could be a 1 time fee to unlock the feature, or monetize by playing an ad in order to be able to play a new custom challenge. There is just so much interesting objects & folks to look at & explore and I often find myself thinking “that object should so be on the list”Thank you for creating such an awesome and refreshing unique game! Was thrilled to find there was an update with added content!
