Description

Easy to use! Comes with individual videos to learn the strokes of the alphabets and then practice on the Scribble pad below it, while orally repeating the sounds.

“Hindi Alphabet” is a simple, easy to use App for anyone learning how to read and write the Hindi Alphabet. It also demonstrates how each letter is to be written so it is especially suitable for beginners. Tap on any letter to watch a movie to see how the letter is sequentially drawn and listen to how the letter is pronounced. It also provides the user with a unique interactive iOS experience while tracing the chosen alphabet on a separate draw pad screen while learning to master the strokes.

What’s New

Better than nothing

This program is helpful. It gives the order of the strokes for each letter in the form of a video. The program also gives the correct pronunciation of the letter. It has a choice to “trace” the letter but this is only a blank screen which allows you to try to write the letter with no guidance. It would be very helpful to have the option to turn on a guide during this free form tracing. Perhaps the guide could have the option to be turned off so that you could practice the letter with a guide when you were learning the shape initially and later do it on a blank screen and only turn the guide on to check how well you had done.

It would also be helpful to teach the matras of the vowels, the forms that they take when they are combined with a consonant.

Still I am grateful for this. Learning to read and write Devanagari is a challenge. This program will only take you part way but it is much better than nothing.

Not very useful.

No sound. No phonetic relationships at all. No actual tracing, just a video then blank page to draw. Absolutely necessary to use multiple apps in learning. No exercises to help learn. Only the video of the characters being drawn. Really disappointing. It has a clean design, that's the only positive aspect. Not worth the $1.99. Really hope it gets updated to have... Features.
