My Collection: Comic Scanner 12+

Good not great

I just scanned all my Frank Miller Daredevil issues, but it only was able to price about a quarter of them since most are newsstand releases. In the 90s, that was a big deal, but I don’t see that as much anymore. Should be able to get prices for these regardless. Also, some of the pricing is inaccurate. It priced my Green Lantern #1, (1960) at $.48. That’s completely inaccurate; not even close. That’s a $1000 comic book at worse. Also, it would help if it would allow multiple options when there are multiple versions of a book. My TMNT #1, third printing, still was coming up as a first printing since the covers are virtually identical. This app has a lot of great potential, but needs some work. Since it’s a beta version, I am still rating it 3 stars. Great job so far but still a little frustrating. Keep up the good work.

Great with some drawbacks

Overall, this is a great app for keeping track of your collection. Things to note is that if you have a lot of foreign comics you have to turn on that search functionality and then if you search an American comic with it on you get a lot of screwy results so this ends up with turning it on and off as you’re going through your collection or scanning in books. all of the typical books are in the database and they come up usually fairly correct. Anything that’s rare usually comes up as no entry found and then you can add yourself. The app does seem to have connection issues where they’ll be whole days at a time where it just glitches and acts like it’s loading over and over again and then you can’t use it. So take that with a grain of salt and consider that you can’t just rely on this app, because there is a lot of downtime.

Great concept just needs a little more fixing

I love the app honestly. I usually buy comics because I love the cover and want to have to read it later. My collection is mainly half and half. So a nice mix of older comics and new releases. The older comics have no problem for adding and pricing. When it comes to the newer ones it does take a bit long to update to have the info for it. So I have about half of my collection not in the app. Also the latest app is glitchy now on my phone(iPhone) I hope the next update fixes that because I do love the app a lot because it is a fun way to keep my collection in order. This has also reduced my buying since I won’t be repeating some purchases.
