Histories at Hobmoor App is a geo-locative heritage experience. It is a walking tour of Yardley, Birmingham UK, where players collect oral history recordings and media.
Histories at Hobmoor is a partnership project between Mercurial Arts and Oasis Academy Hobmoor, funded by the Heritage Lottery Foundation. The project fostered a love of heritage and deeper community connection in Yardley, enabling both adults and children to learn about their heritage and share their stories of moving to, and living in this area. Mercurial Arts have been collecting stories, oral histories, photographs and 3D scans of objects from local residents along with sharing their memories of Yardley.
All of the media can now be found on the Histories at Hobmoor website www.historiesathobmoor.mercurialarts.co.uk. The website is maintained as an ongoing resource where content can be uploaded, adding stories, memories and photographs from the local area. This will create a resource that people from Yardley and beyond can continue to connect with and use, to find out more about Yardley and it’s community’s history.
