Home Base by Scholastic 4+

So, I love Home Base, it’s an amazing game, and I’ve gotten to make so many friends :D But it’s the laggiest, glitchiest game I’ve ever played in my entire life. Entire life. I have to fight with it everyday, and it’s really starting to get on my nerves. I dunno if anyone else has experienced this, but every single day—without fail—it ends up locking me out. Sends me to the home page and doesn’t let me re-login. Just says, “You don’t have internet connection right now. Please try again later.” when I indeed do have internet. Only happens on the app, by the by. So I end up having to go on the website on my computer (I would do it on my IPad but it crashes the second it connects to chat), which is a lot less laggy, I will admit. But, I can’t post anything. I can’t even begin to describe what’s wrong there— so I won’t. Oh, and half the time the chat doesn’t connect on the computer. I know I could just download HB on my computer, but I don’t know if that wouldn’t fix any of these problems. If you couldn’t tell, this isn’t the kind of review to read if you’re thinking about getting HB, it’s more so for the developers. Overall, wonderful game, it just needs a lot of bugs fixed. I absolutely love this game. I’ve met so many nice people in it and had a lot of fun playing all the games, reading stories, roleplaying... it’s all super fun and all, but there’s a ton of glitches that ruin some of the fun. There ARE some fun glitches, but others ruin the game. The most noticeable for me has to do with Scavenger Hunt. I’ll get excited that it doesn’t glitch out from the beginning and let me not collect gems at all, but then some random invisible barrier will kill me and I’ll no longer be able to collect gems. Then the game goes into “overtime,” going into the negatives and not ending, forcing me to reload the app. The same thing happened with Trivia; the round never ended. Also, almost every time I go into the feed the game crashes within 30 seconds which is really inconvenient. These glitches don’t completely take the fun out, but if the developers could work on these it would surely add to the experience.
Other than that, this app is really fun! I’m a huge fan of Wings of Fire and came for that content, and still mainly play those games, but I’ve been looking into other series and even reading some because of how interesting they seem. The community is great, the games are great, and I’m really happy I discovered this place!

The only reason I give it four stars is that it has plenty of glitches, e.g. on the NF, if you click on a random spot on the middle of the screen it goes to ModMichael’s Monster Hunters post. The mini games are okay, I guess, I don’t really play them. Occasionally crashes/bugs out when I go of the NF, like profile pics are weird, nicknames don’t work, etc. But the community, oh boy, it’s amazing. There’s stuff for 7-9 and 10-14 ish. Roleplays, stories, and just sharing stuff. I have lots of friends on there(I’m Shadow, actually) and they’re all really nice and amazing. There are some seven y/o’s that just do random keysmashes but whatever. The moderation is pretty tight. I am annoyed when I put out a slightly dark fanfic with a warning at the top and I get rejected, but the “I SURVIVED THE ZOMBIE APOCCALIP!!! WAT IF I DI????!!!!!!! DA ZOMBIIIII!!!!!!” is let through. The live chat is pretty cool with a filter but won’t let some stuff from the books they have(like SkyWings) but you can get around it. All in all, a nice 8.5/10. Good job HB. ~Shadow(Silverdragon1974)
