Complex, unintuive — feels like something a phone co would make
Google Voice has issues, but HomeXtend is largely unusable. The settings are complex and difficult to understand. And service setup — as opposed to digital telephony — is what it mainly does.
Calling out from your smartphone as if using your home line works well—except if you are overseas (it needs to use your registered cell number in the US). Forwarding calls to other numbers works similarly as Google Voice.
Voicemail is confusing to set up and to access from a phone; better to use an answering machine. The mobile app doesn't provide direct access to voicemails as Google Voice does; you still have to call in (so, when abroad, you must do international long distance. You can have voice messages emailed, but you get WAV attachments, which don't work dependably outside Windows and eat up your cellular data. No transcripts as Google Voice offers.
App Hijacked all my phone calls
...working to get this sorted but once I do, I am sending this app to digital heaven. 👎
