Excellent

Setting up the smart feature of my dehumidifier is pretty straightforward. After turning on the machine, you will be able to see the current humidity of the location, where you placed your machine. You can also adjust the desired humidity of you machine on your device.

Automation is useless

The ability to control my portable AC from my phone is nice. But one of the reasons I got this particular AC unit is because I was supposedly able to set schedules and conditions such as “if room becomes greater than 80 degrees from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM turn on AC, set to cool, and set thermostat to 70 degrees”. But there seams to be a huge problem. When your just controlling the AC unit in a similar way to if your using the included remote all works fine. But if you try to set the temperature via an “automation” the temperature gets messed up. Case and point? I made a few automations to test this and in short the numbers are off by 17 degrees. So if you set the automation to make the thermostat 60, (witch is the lowest you can set it by the way) what you actually get is 77. Something similar is also happening to the trigger at temperature function in the automation but as I can not see the temperature that it’s reading I don’t know to what degree. Also on a related note. Even though I have set my location in the app for weather triggering there reported outside temperature has never been right or even close for that matter. There app says 88, my phone says it’s 69. The next day the app says it’s 56, my phone says it’s 76. You get the Picture…..

In short this app is a fancy remote control, all other functions are not really useful as there broken….

Pretty weak crap

Hardly worth downloading. This does not connect with SmartThings or Apple’s Home, or anything else, though it’s hard to tell because the documentation is so poor. It wasn’t even in the box, i had to search for it online. CF connection did not work, whatever that is, (the manual explains nothing) but AP connection did. It doesn’t give you notifications of water tank full, or humidity alert, or any other problem. The app has very little functionality.

i am always disappointed to buy an appliance that the designers obviously never used or lived with. This is the great pattern of alienation across our cultures. Some giant corporation, Honeywell contracted some barely competent “programming company” to throw together a piece of crap they could label “smart” so they could hawk it to keep the cash flowing. And none of them will ever bother to read this, or any other feedback on their crap. Karl Marx had at least one good insight.

It would only seem we have ourselves to blame for living in a way that requires dehumidifiers. My next house will be a tree house.
