While there’s no shortage of charming 8-bit platformers on the App Store, HoPiKo simply raises the bar with its stunning quality. Mixing simple controls, just-difficult-enough levels, and a killer score, this arcade game shimmers with retro quality. As you blast your way through stages littered with obstacles—bouncing between moving platforms and crashing into a big bad virus—you’ll be filled with both nostalgia and excitement.
Classic Music
Although this game is very fast paced and very fun, you can’t deny the fact the game is even more fun when there’s that background epic music playing. With the recent update the music had a remastered version, though I enjoy the new songs, I would like to see a setting where you can select classic music. Despite my complain, This game is very unique indeed and it’s so much fun to play in almost everywhere. I sure hope I get to select classic music once again because these songs hold a special place in my gaming.
Too intense for me
But if you’re into crazy difficult games that make you want to smash your phone when you almost make it to the end of a level and then make a stupid move and lose, then you’ll probably like this game.
