What do you know about your garden? Hortus has all the answers: which plants are where, how do you care for them, handy web links, flowering calendar!

Green fingers or not ... Hortus is a handy app that helps you to take care of your garden.

You can group plants in different gardens, such as a front garden, backyard, or a specific border. You can add notes and photos for plants and gardens. On the garden photos, you can mark which plant is where.
It is rarely necessary to enter all the data of a plant yourself. The plant guide in the app offers more than 12,500 plants, and it is easy to add plants from the plant guide to a garden.

To help you take care of your garden, you can create tasks. For a task you set the month in which it should be performed. There are useful overviews that clearly show what you have done and what still needs to be addressed.

It's easy to browse the Internet for more information about the plant or plant care. Helpful links can be saved making it very easy to find the information again.

Do you want to know whether your garden is nicely balanced in terms of flowering times? Then check the flowering calendar of your garden. Here you can see exactly in which period and with what color a plant flowers. This way you have a good view of whether you have flowering plants in your garden all year round.

In addition to gardens, you can also keep plant lists. You can create these lists for any purpose, such as a favorites list or a shopping list. But you can also keep a list with beautiful shade plants or a list with plants longer than 1 meter and with blue flowers.

Your garden changes every year. You can back up a garden to a CSV file. You can read these files with any spreadsheet program (Numbers / Excel). If you do this annually, you have a nice backup in which you can look back on earlier years.

Like a Miracle- should be 4 1/2 stars

This is pretty much what I was imagining- a near perfect blend of adding my own info and having a database to draw on. I would have gladly paid just for that. Very experienced gardener so I don’t often need lots of reminders or advice, but I have a million plants and forget the variety names sometimes. Seems like most other apps that let you define a garden area and add photos also need you to type everything in yourself. Not this one! I had been dreading all the input.

If only I could add a photo of the garden area to the garden area page, bring the names plants I have input as small-font labels (perhaps just variety name such as ‘Jacob Klein‘) or just as numbers, then drag them to their true location on the photo, I would be so excited it would not be funny!

Your idea for marking plants in photos was inspiring! So now in the new version you will have this new functionality. Also the overall performance is improved. I hope you still enjoy the app.

Nice tool for tracking plants!

I really wanted an app that kept track of my plants and helped me remember what I planted and where. If one doesn’t come back in the spring I know which one and that helps me learn. Not having to input the information on each one is a real bonus. And having the bloom calendar helps me decide where I may have gaps in my planning. The only thing I wish it had was height and spacing info in imperial measurements, but it’s not that hard to type that into the notes section. Would also like to be able to draw a planting map or diagram as well as use actual photos. Nice app for my needs! Developer is responsive!

It is possible to delete a plant by swiping to the left in the list with plants. If you still have problems deleting a plant, please contact me at I am happy to help.

Just what I was looking for!

All I wanted was a way to remember what I have and where. More than just a list of plant names and photos, but don’t need (nor do I want) to keep daily updates. I love that it links to wiki info, auto fills and then you can edit. Also like the ability to import between lists.

Features I would like to see added are ability to rename gardens/lists; ability to enter custom characteristics; ability to filter gardens/lists; ability to export.
