Creekside Rv less HOSTEEVA would be perfect
We arrived after midnight. We were assigned Lot 17, but someone was already there. We attempted to reach HOSTEEVA, but with no success. An owner of one of the lots saw our confusion and came out to us and asked if we booked using HOSTEEVA. They explained that this is a regular occurrence and suggested we pull in to an empty lot with the HOSTEEVA sign since it would have full hookup for us. After we did this, I contacted HOSTEEVA again pleading with them to make sure we would not be staying at a lot that someone else was assigned to and have to move. We went to lot 50 and I told them this. After 2 am someone from HOSTEEVA contacted us and said they show were are assigned to Lot 17. I told them everything all over and they told me to just stay at Lot 50. When I initially booked this, I was told checkout was 12 noon. When they sent confirmation for Lot 50, they said our checkout time was 10 am. I have never stayed anywhere with such an early checkout. The grounds are beautiful and it’s close to so many things with just a short drive. The only problem I have is with the booking. In the future I will contact owners who rent spaces and try to make reservations through them and I will NEVER use HOSTEEVA again. There were no apologies for this and no special commendation for this unnecessary stress.
Some good, some bad
Stayed there for Labor Day weekend. First the positive:
Great location near the St Charles streetcar line. Renovation is pretty. Nice big couch fit all 8 of us. The unit is clean.
Areas for improvement: first off, the walls and ceiling were incredibly thin. We felt like our neighbors were in the unit with us, and that is no exaggeration. You could hear everything— walking, conversations, etc. There are finishes which need completing. One upstairs bedroom had several electrical outlets, but none of them actually worked. There was also no dresser in that room. The room we were in had a dresser by no closet. No bedside tables, no lamps. A luxury unit should have these things. The refrigerator was dripping water on the floor, which we had to keep drying up. The TV broadcast no stations I’ve actually heard of. No ESPN, no HGTV, no Fox News, CNN, Discovery. I couldn’t even find local affiliate news, but I’m not sure about those. The posting does not specify that there is no designated parking. There is free parking on the street by the unit. I received a parking ticket for being too close to the intersection, and the people in the adjacent unit had their car towed for the same reason. We had a great weekend and didn’t let any of it bother us, but what I have shared above, we would have like to have known.
Hosteeva was very quick to respond. There was coffee available. The room was musty upon arrival which was not very welcoming. There was no decor on the walls which made it not so homey. The second bedroom had no tv and only a small nightstand, so there was nowhere to put clothes except in the floor. The balcony only had two chairs, yet it was a two bedroom condo making it very likely there will be 4 people staying. The small bathroom had no where to put shampoo in the shower, so we had to put it on the floor. There were no kitchen towels. We probably should have requested those, but didn’t. We had to request a cookie sheet because there was nothing that could be used in the oven and we requested a can opener. Both of those items were delivered very quickly. There were only enough towels and washcloths for 1 day of bathing so we had to do laundry every day. All in all the condo was clean, but somethings could be done to make the stay nicer.
