HotSchedules app review
Hello! I have had HotSchedules for about two years now used it for multiple jobs love the app has always been super organized and helpful when coming to my schedule. I would just like to address that recently The app has been taking 4 to 5 times as long to load up. Any other app I use doesn’t take that long and it’s frustrating when I only have a few minutes to check what time I have to be back to work and it won’t load. Also for some reason the dinner and the lunch shifts are now switched and random days have dinner on the top and lunch on the bottom and vice versa. Super random Kind of throwing me off. Not sure how that happened but other than that the app is useful and helpful. Just would like those 2 things fixed if possible thank you.
Could be some improvements made
It shouldn’t fall on the employee to pay for an app an employer requires in order for that employee to know when they work next. Plain and simple. Should not need to go further into explaining on that.
In terms of function, the app works well for the most part. With it being a paid app, I would expect it to run a little, I dunno, faster? The lag can get annoying.
Also, if anything- the sync to calendar option needs adjusted. If an employer reuploads a schedule due to changes, the calendar app does not rewrite the schedule that was made originally. Meaning if a manager uploads and edits the schedule 7 times, my phone receives seven consecutive notifications that I have to individually swipe away just for a new one to instantly appear. For my schedule next week, I have 12. Meaning I have to go in and delete the other 11 if I want to avoid my phone(and myself) freaking out when they start rolling in.
Just minor things, the calendar thing though has not been fixed and has been going on since downloading this app around two years ago.
I don’t understand if it’s just me or why this app is rated so highly... I’ve used it for about 3 years now because I have too and it’s been terrible. I can probably count the number of times it has loaded properly on one hand. It is a daily occurrence when I initially open the app that it does one of two things - indefinitely loads until an error message pops up (The operation can not be completed), or it loads and is literally completely blank, and trying to check to any other link/tab results in another error message. This continues to persist several times after closing and reopening the app, often it will result in signing me out completely. I currently use an iPhone X, although I’ve had these issues across other phones, keep the app updated, and 90% of the time I am connected to WiFi with any of my other apps working fine as far as the connection goes. I’m able to connect through the actual webpage easily enough but that’s not the point - I paid for the convenience of this app and it hardly works. I’m writing this review now because these issues have persisted through the last two days without even pulling up my schedule once setting me over the edge with my patience.
