Could be some improvements made
It shouldn’t fall on the employee to pay for an app an employer requires in order for that employee to know when they work next. Plain and simple. Should not need to go further into explaining on that.
In terms of function, the app works well for the most part. With it being a paid app, I would expect it to run a little, I dunno, faster? The lag can get annoying.
Also, if anything- the sync to calendar option needs adjusted. If an employer reuploads a schedule due to changes, the calendar app does not rewrite the schedule that was made originally. Meaning if a manager uploads and edits the schedule 7 times, my phone receives seven consecutive notifications that I have to individually swipe away just for a new one to instantly appear. For my schedule next week, I have 12. Meaning I have to go in and delete the other 11 if I want to avoid my phone(and myself) freaking out when they start rolling in.
Just minor things, the calendar thing though has not been fixed and has been going on since downloading this app around two years ago.
Pretty good but I’d have some improvements
I have it for work, pretty good. I thought it was a bit unfair to have the worker pay for something the employee is forcing them to get to know their schedules but the price wasn’t that bad so no substantial complaints. The set up is really easy although I know some of my coworkers are really confused by the availability and didn’t mess with it because they didn’t know how it worked. I had figured it out but I think it should just be set up nicer. And I think it would be really great if we had a way to categorize/filter our inbox. A lot of my coworkers spam there asking for shifts to be picked up, I want to categorize the important notifications managers messages and from that of my coworkers. Overall, like the set up, never glitches, and is reliable.
Completely would say no if asked again
As a business manager I am very sad that this app charges our employees on top of what we are already paying for the monthly fees, it is completely advantageous and detrimental that a company commands it’s sales on the people when the company already pays them a fortune. I don’t know how someone with their right state of mind, would profit from the employees that are bound by the company (that’s already paying them a fortune) to make one extra dollar.
It’s speaks fathoms about who are the people on top, and how they manage their business. We recently added HotSchedules as part of our corporate decision, just because we already had it in several locations. If i was asked again I would completely dispute this idea just for this matter, not even if it’s one dollar, abusing employees from a stand point of taking advantage on the person that feels the necessity. Rather that making your product and service better, they decide to profit their margin of people that are obliged and bound by a business decision that was brought to better serve them, and not to make an extra dollar for this company.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
