Ratings and Reviews
This simply doesn’t work!!
I just purchased this app and it does not work as expected. There were all kinds of remnant light groups and scenes upon opening the app that did not work at all.
The actual groups in my home listed would trigger lights in other groups and could not be turned off. In the hue menu both the ip addrss and bridge id showed as not connected, but there was a connection?
There is no way to reach the developer for support or even to ask questions about making the app work to it’s potential.
$3.99 may not seem much, but when you trust someone to deliver a quality product you expect to get what you are paying for. I do not recommend this app.
Works well enough
This app lets me change a whole group of lights at once, conveniently, from the menu bar. And this works just fine. So overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
There are a few things that keep me from giving a higher rating:
- The Preferences panel appears to be broken (shows "Not connected", even though the Menu > Connected appears to know about my IP address with no issue)
- A little fit-n-finish. "IP adress" is spelled wrong
- The menu gets a little noisy with every light and every group getting its own entry. The menu ends up being as tall as my whole screen. It'd be nice if I could only show light groups, or only specific lights, via some sort of preference.
Works for the most part
Simple drop down menu to manage the lights. Scenes seem to be applied to all lights, not by room.
Application stays open in the dock, which is annoying if it is also open in the menubar where it should be.
Can not figure out how to get the TouchBar to work with the app like it shows in the photos. Will update the review if I figure it out.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
