I unlocked photo sending with one person and once I sent the photo of me. I was immediately locked out and it was stated to me on the strict image sharing of children. I turn 25 in 2 months… it’s a Sunday so I’m assuming everyone will think I’m ghosting them unless the account shows I’m no longer on the app. 🤷🏾♀️ Waiting on the reply from support. Assuming AI assumed I was a child because it was instantaneously.EDIT: I have looked back and it has now been resolved and I thank you for that. I hope to next time receive a note that it’s been adjusted back into accessible mode.EDIT: Just got told I had access back. I’m assuming because of weekend and time difference. Everything has been well with meeting people on the app and safety and all.
Developer ResponseHello thank you for taking the time to explain what happened and for updating your review.I completely understand how stressful that situation must have felt. To clarify, the image blocking was triggered automatically by our safety system. Any content that could potentially involve minors is immediately locked as a precaution. This does not mean you did anything wrong. It is a strict, instant safeguard designed to protect users. As you noticed, once support reviewed the case manually, your access was restored. On weekends or depending on time zones, this review can take a bit longer, which can unfortunately feel like ghosting. I’m glad everything was resolved and that your experience on the app has otherwise been positive in terms of safety and meeting people.Your feedback about receiving a clear notification when access is restored is very valid and has been noted. The teams at Hush truly do their best to balance strong safety measures with a smooth user experience.Thank you again for your patience and understanding.Cyrille from Hush 🧡
I really like this app a lot and I do enjoy using it. I was talking to someone who is also in recovery and I feel like we were being supportive of one another, and after that, I have been unable to use the site. I would never use any app for cruel intentions. I’m sorry if it appeared that I was doing something other than what I was doing. I’d like the opportunity to clear my name and use the app again if possible. My apologies.
Overall it’s an okay app. My most recent issue is it’s down for maintenance with a time of 6 hours. After 24 hours I reached out to support. They said 12 to 48 hours. We are now on day 3 of the app being down. They had no ETA of when it’d be up and running. Maybe they’ll fix the glitches idk. Also, some people pay for the app and some don’t. I’m not sure how the decide who doesn’t pay.
There’s had been a note when opening the app saying maintenance is being done. But yesterday it said 1 day left and it said 6 hours left last night and it still says 6 hours today 12hours later and nothing has happened and still can’t get access. Is there an actual time that it will be finished?
I tried to sign up and immediately got flagged for “identity theft.” Then support asked me to send photos of my government ID AND a selfie. So I sent the picture of my Photo on my ID but then They wanted a separate photo showing my birthdate too?? It felt unnecessary and unsafe, No legit app should need this much personal information, especially all the details required to steal an identity. I Just blocked their email and the app and won’t be using this again.Just warning others so you know what you’re getting into.
Developer ResponseHello I am really sorry this experience made you feel unsafe and uncomfortable. I completely understand why this situation raised concerns and why you decided to stop the process.I want to clarify an important point. Hush does not collect information to steal identities. All identity checks are part of a strict KYC process used only to verify two things: that the person is real and that the person is legally adult. This is exactly what allows Hush to have no fake profiles or bots on the platform. When an account is flagged for potential identity misuse, it is not an accusation. It is an automatic security trigger caused by an inconsistency during verification. In those cases, support may request additional documents such as an ID photo and a clear proof of birthdate to manually review and unlock the account safely. This data is handled securely and only for verification purposes. That said, your feeling of discomfort is valid. Security measures can feel intrusive when something goes wrong, and that is not the experience we want users to have. Your feedback is important and helps us improve how this process is explained and handled.Thank you for sharing your experience and warning others honestly.Cyrille from Hush 🧡
I downloaded this app in search of someone I’m able to connect with anonymously. However, upon opening the app the first things I’m asked for are my phone number, email, face, and age. Doesn’t seem too anonymous. And if that was sketchy enough as is, when I tried doing the facial exam required, it appeared my results came back as “identity fraud”. Okay, so not only are you asking me for my face in the first place as an ANONYMOUS app, but you are claiming I am using someone else’s identity? Not sure why it said that, or how that’s even an option to be said, but I feel completely violated from this app. I attempted to write a “contact support” message to inform the support team of this false accusation, however, I was left with my screen conveniently being switched off of the support tab. If I hadn’t been called an identity thief I wouldn’t have even written this review in the first place. However, it seems that your whole app is a bit of a misinforming fake mess. If you want to have your dignity in tact, don’t download this app. It already had enough bad reviews before I decided to write this one.
Developer ResponseHello I’m really sorry this experience made you feel uncomfortable and violated. I completely understand why this situation felt alarming, especially when you were looking for anonymity.Hush is anonymous between users. No personal information is ever visible or shared with others. The phone number, email and facial verification are required only for KYC, and for two reasons only: to ensure the person is real and to ensure the person is legally adult. This is exactly what allows Hush to have zero fake profiles on the platform. When the system flags a scan as “identity fraud”, it does not mean you stole someone’s identity. It is an automatic security alert triggered by a technical inconsistency during the scan. This can happen for many reasons like lighting, camera issues or scan interruption. The account is temporarily blocked to protect users, not to accuse them.I’m sorry if the support flow felt broken or confusing. That is not the experience we want to offer, and these cases are normally reviewed manually to find a fair solution.Your feelings are valid and your feedback is taken seriously. The teams at Hush truly do their best to build a safe, respectful and trustworthy environment, even if that sometimes means strict security measures that can feel unsettling when something goes wrong.Thank you for sharing your experience.Cyrille from Hush 🧡
