How wonderful and convenient to have your hymnal on your iPhone. This is a full featured complete SDA eHymnal lyrics that are ultra sharp and clear. Contains all of the 695 hymns from the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal® plus many more from the "old" hymnal and other choruses. Also has all of the responsive readings. No internet connection is needed to use this hymnal after installation.
The user interface has a clean look with no ads, and very easy to use. You can quickly and easily find the hymn that you want either by selecting from the alphabetical index of hymn titles and first lines, the numerical index of hymn numbers based on the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal®, or your own bookmark list. There is a full featured bookmark list for you to add songs that you need for quick access. Use the search feature to quickly search for words in the title or first line, or just enter a hymn number to jump directly to that hymn. You can also swipe left or right to go to the next or previous song just like turning pages in the printed hymnal. But what is even better is that the swipe turning sequence can either be in numerical hymn number order, alphabetical hymn title order, or bookmark list order. Zoom in for larger texts both in portrait or landscape orientations.
God has given me two talents-music and computer. I have been a church pianist and organist for several decades, and professionally, I am a computer professor. So putting these two talents together, I have personally written this app to be a blessing to others. I hope that you will like it and be blessed by it. It’s ok. Needs improvements
Having used this for some time now I think it’s just ok. The free hymnal app has some better features as far as usability. For example, often we may want to share the lyrics of the song with others, you cannot copy or even share, as well if you’re using the app, the search function is not that great. It must be to the exact title as it cannot search lyrics either (so whomp if you can only remember the chorus or an abstract verse at the time you’re trying to recall). Having the music score is amazing! Truly enjoy that but also wish similar to the iPad app that this came with the music to play it and hear it as well. I’m really not sure why that wasn’t included in here. Additionally, when it said full hymnal and extra songs I’d imagined it meant extras from the older original SDA hymnal (both this and iPad app), but that’s not the case, it’s just very small section of extra songs.
Overall, I do appreciate that this app offers correct lyrics to most of the hymns and that it has the music sheet. Usability issues needs addressing
Where is the product I purchase
This hymnal I purchased. It was supposed to play some hymns, switch from lyrics to music. But none of it is working. I downloaded the Bible app for free. What a blessing. This hymnal app I purchased instead of the free version because of the features it offered . Where are you. Where are the updates? Please allow purchaser to get the benefit of what you promised
Share Icon Bug Fix
I once was able to use the share icon to print out a song for my use or to send to a friend via mail, email or Facebook. Now when I click share the app closes. This needs to be fixed.
