Excellent for Stroke Survivors
My husband had a stroke that initially impacted his speech. I used this app to develop stories so that he could let us know his wants and needs. He was so frustrated right after the stroke and the use of this app enabled him to reduce his stress, provided visual cues to help him make basic decisions about what to eat and what he wanted to watch on tv, and amazed the medical professionals (I am a special education teacher who used this app with multiple students). It was a significant help when he was experiencing pain or discomfort to assist providers in meeting his needs. I suspect that this app helped his brain to develop new pathways to communicate that may not have developed to his current level had he not had access to it. His speech is currently slower, but almost as functional as pre-stroke.
iCreate... Social Skills Stories
This app is easy to use with very friendly design. It is suitable for kids and they can learn social skills. A good application for choice of parents.
I bought this app for my daughter who is severely developmentally delayed. I think that it is a good app for putting together a story for different things you want your child to learn using your own pictures. We have done a similar project in a notebook but it will be easier to do it on the iPhone. This is not a very easy project to put together and it does require a lot of time and effort. I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about when they said there were lots of stories. There is only a sample of what your stories could look like then you make your own.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
