Description

Do you eat when you're stressed? Or when you're bored, lonely, or annoyed? If so, this app will help! It contains 32 sets of questions and 150+ Bible verses you can use to go to God for help with weight loss!

Here’s how it works. When you’re in a tempting situation, all you can think of is the food: how it looks. How it smells. And how good it would taste. What you need is a way to break the hold it has on you. This app will help. The questions are designed to help you see the big picture: Will eating really make you happy? Will it be worth it? Would it be better not to eat?

The questions and Bible verses will help you get a biblical perspective on life - and that will help you break free from those negative emotions that drive you to eat. As you go through the questions and the verses, you’ll begin to see your desires change - so you'll no longer even want that donut!

Here’s why: It’s the lies you believe about food that make you want to overeat. When you replace those lies with truth, you’ll actually want to follow your boundaries. And that will help you lose weight and keep it off.

If you'd like to see a short YouTube video of the app in action, click on the blue I Deserve a Donut support link on the iTunes Preview page for this app or go to the Christian Weight Loss App page at barbraveling.com under the weight loss tab.

There is also a Bible study that goes with this app called Taste for Truth: A 30 Day Weight Loss Bible Study which is available at Amazon.

Finally a way to be sane with food!

This is an excellent app. We live in challenging food times -food of every kind is available in abundance everywhere and all the time. But so much is not healthy food and it’s so easy to eat more than we need. Also, we have many impulses within us that urge us to eat that are not based on hunger and true physical need. For those of us who have developed more complicated relationships with food, especially, boundaries are needed to keep food in its rightful place. This app allows us to instantly pause and consider our motives and actions before we eat outside of the boundaries we’ve individually chosen. In the process, those who use this app will grow in wise, godly self-control not only in this area of their lives but in all areas of their lives. They will grow closer to God and grow in obedience to God. What could be better! And the side benefit is a healthy body. Finally, a way to think and behave sanely around food.

“Missing Link” for Weight Loss—the spiritual component

As an RD, LDN, (registered/licensed dietitian), I meet many patients/clients who know WHAT to do, they just don’t know HOW to have the strength/willpower to do it. Christ is the answer, but patients/clients don’t understand how this, how their faith, applies to weight management/health. This is an area in my own struggle as well as in my patients/clients weight/health struggles that is often overlooked or looked at as “taboo” to speak about, but it is MOST essential!
This app can be easily shared with patients/clients, friends/relatives, to give them practical help for weight management and also as way to introduce them to Jesus Christ or help them to grow in their walk.
“For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)
“...for bodily discipline is only if little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
Thank you for this app, books, and other help that points to Him through one’s health journey!

Suggestion for this app

Can y’all make it to where we can interact with others on this app if we choose and possible get a way to set up a thing to where we can create a group kinda like group me that us and our friends can join that way we can keep each other accountable share our experiences our concerns maybe even add a way to imput like maybe measurements and/or weight on maybe a weekly or daily basis. When we did this at my church we bought everyone a book and met weekly and weighed in and measured weekly so we could see the progress as well as share our accomplishments with other people we also were able to discuss any concerns we had and when we met we would walk around our church and get to spend some time with the people that were going through some of the same struggles we were love this program though
