Editors’ Notes

You’ll find no spilled drinks in this sleek casual puzzler—just charming conundrums. As you flick, twist, and slide Open Bar’s colored bands to clear endless levels, the gameplay’s genius shines through. Each stage takes just three moves to solve, but untangling those moves is a rewarding test of tricky spatial logic. Brimming with challenge and bubbly cocktail-hour personality, it’s perfect for a playful puzzle fix.

Knock Me Over W/a Feather, Er, Bar

I was cleaning/clearing up space on my iPhone when I came across this and could not remember downloading it or what it was. I thought it looked like a mixology app and was astounded to find this very seductively, seemingly simple and easy game.

There didn’t appear to be very much to it. Whew! Boy, was I mistaken! Someone was a genius, and I was an idiot. Fortunately, the game was capable of providing clues for the clueless like me, giving me a chance to catch on. The more I played the more I was seduced and the more I appreciated the subtleties of the game and the cleverness of the game’s design. It was hard and easy and challenging all at the same time. I was hooked, and I, as a rule, do not get hooked on games. But this was different. It heightened my visual and spatial senses and made me think outside the so-called box.

Thank you so much for providing this 68-year old retiree with a much needed reminder that I was retired and could give myself permission to have some fun on my iPhone. The more I play the game the more my brain is stimulated and the more I relax. I had forgotten how much a little imagination stimulation feels good, and how necessary it was for my mental health. Playing your game is making me feel younger intellectually, and I appreciate it in a way you cannot understand unless you have been in my old shoes.

Thanks again, and good luck on creating more levels for me to learn how to complete.

You'll like it more than you think

I like the idea of puzzlers but can't usually be bothered to play them for long. I hate the number of variables that are often included, the reveal of critical techniques that you have to master later, or the "to solve this you'll have to be lucky on the drops" crap that you usually see. Open Bar has none of that. Just a few simple moves and zillions of tiny puzzles that each only take a moment to solve. Don't like puzzles? Try this. Love puzzles? You're about to go crazy for this one.
