Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will host the 2016 Summer Olympics, the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, also abbreviated as Rio 2016. The games will take place from August 5 to August 21, 2016. More than 10,500 athletes from 206 countries are attending the event. For the first time in history South Sudan and Kosovo will participate. This edition of the Olympic Games will feature 28 sports and 306 sets of medals. The games will take place in 38 venues among Rio and other cities as São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Brasília, and Manaus. The Rio Games will mark three world records: it’s the first time in history that a South American country is hosting the Olympics; but also the first time they are held in a Portuguese-speaking country; and for the first time they take place during the winter season in the host country.

Does the bare minimum which is enough (doesn't know the olympics awards medals)

Could use more inside the event like what it is other than saying "swimming" or "rowing"...for example. But maybe to much information confuses people so it gives u enough to stay w the pace of events.
This is just a side note; the Olympics award medals...not trophies. Why use a trophy icon to tell us an vague event name will be for the full enchilada? Just throwing it out there...

Provides event schedule, but lacks detail

The schedule shows the date, time and sport, but offers no details on the specific event or the countries/athletes that are competing. No way to set notifications for yourself either. Overall, it's decently useful, but would be much better with a little more added info and functionality.

Macro view of events

There is an audience for this app, but it's not for me. I'm in Los Angeles and will couch surf these games so I'm only interested in what I can watch and the teams/times. The NBC Sports app is more useful for that. I've got 3 PCs and a laptop in my media room to stream the games. No disrespect to the developers, for giving you event and time but not team, the app works. Maybe a bit of direction in who this app is targeted towards would be helpful in the description.
