The Briscoe Museum in San Antonio, Texas opened in October 2013. The Briscoe is dedicated to the art, heritage, and culture of the American West. This App is designed to help visitors engage with art and artifacts in new ways: access contextual images, watch short videos, learn more about an artist's background, and get the backstory on how an object ended up in our Museum—all from your mobile device. This app will make use of your GPS which can cause a decrease in battery life.

Love the idea but not well executed

The app provides no navigation instruction besides “go to stop 4”. I could not find a map within the app and whatever symbol in the museum that was supposed to alert you of a stop was non-obvious. Also pictures never loaded whether I was on LTE or museum WiFi. You spend more time looking at your phone than the large collection of truly lovely art. Skip this app if you really want to enjoy the museum.

Love the idea but not well executed.

Great Supplement to the Museum Visit

I found the app to be a great supplement to both planning and visiting the Briscoe Western Art Museum. I would encourage you to give it a try, but (either way) be sure to visit The Briscoe!
