Big improvements since first release
When this game was first released a long time ago I eagerly tried it and quickly dumped it. I decided to download it again yesterday and was happy to discover the developer has made major improvements in gameplay and graphics. Spent a few hours playing yesterday and am looking forward to enjoying this again today. The only issue that I hope will be resolved at this point is inconsistent activation of zoom (pull back perspective) on the iPhone. This feature works more reliably on my iPad, but even on that device it often requires repeated tapping attempts.
How are there NOT more games like this in the App Store?!
I disc golf, so I picked this up as soon as I became aware of it. Here is the rundown of the Pros & Cons of this game, in my point of view..
Fun, really fun
Grasps the feel of disc golf
A short, but good, variety of discs, not just cosmetic differences either
When I have to put it down, for one reason or another, I WANT to keep playing
Great course design, and it would be EPIC if you put a course editor in the sequel.
Too short, but I feel like it is because of deadlines, not lack of ideas
You can keep playing a level over and over and "farm" for stars, making the purchase of news discs feel empty
The editing of discs isn't explained well. I still don't know how to make the existing decal on a disc go away. It just puts the new decal over the existing one. That's lame.
Too much fun (What were they thinking?)
I'd recommend this game to others. ESPECIALLY people who are disc golfers or at least have a passing interest in the sport. I feel people are being a little too harsh on it. Was the high price tag because it was made by a small studio? That would make sense, and that would take the wind out of the sails in the "This game was too expensive" boat.
Either way, this is some fun stuff, and I will anxiously wait for a sequel, and will happily pay whatever price tag that you deem necessary.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for the great review! I'm glad you like the game, especially as a disc golfer! No need to wait until the sequel, there will be more levels in a future update. (I'm currently finishing up a bug-fix update). And yes, I'm a single developer, that's why the updates are taking longer than usual.
Screen size issues
The whole app is not adjusting to fix the screen of my XR. Many parts of the screen cannot be seen
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
