Chromatix is a new and powerful mobile app that can quickly and automatically colorize your black and white grayscale photos to convert them into beautiful color images! Take a look at the screenshots on this app listing for some before and after examples.

Chromatix is great for anyone looking to convert their old black and white photos into modern color. See your grandma's old photos and re-live the moments as if you were really there, instead of looking at them with a boring black and white vision! You can use your device's built-in camera to quickly scan in old historic photo prints to colorize them; or if you have a digital scanned version ready and waiting, just save them to your device's gallery.

This app will attempt to colorize your black and white photos automatically using neural network machine learning technology. It will not work perfectly for all photos, and is not meant for professional photo restoration use, so please do not leave a negative review if the results are not good for some of your photos. Instead, contact us and send us the photo you are attempting to colorize to help us improve the algorithm. Thank you :)

Colorize black and white photos today. You can use your device's built-in camera to quickly scan in old historic photo prints to colorize them; or if you have a digital scanned version ready and waiting, just save them to your iPhone or iPad's storage or your iCloud storage.

Agreed: pics just converted to brown

On opening the app there is a message stating that a negative review should not be left but i’m scared to contact the developer so that the algorithm can be improved. I attempted to to use the links available to contact the developer and they were all null links. It is a waste of money as it just converts the images to Brown. I even tried with a very recent photo that I had done in black-and-white using another app and the algorithm could not even reverse that to color.

Developer: I am all for giving new apps and products a chance but do not ask your customers to contact you with negative comments for QC and then leave an invalid link. I would’ve been fine wasting money if you were honest with the instructions to contact you with comments that would help you to improve the algorithm.

Better with newer images or natural lighted, perhaps

I tried two good quality digital images from very early 1900s. One turned out all brown while the other came out a blotchy blue. I was more impressed with the blue as it seemed a better attempt. The photos were of staged portraits with landscape backdrops so there was a variety of hues and shades that should have been available. I don’t doubt the photo colorization examples given, but they are naturally lighted, which may account for their success as well.

Better then the other apps

I’ve been using the app Colorize & it takes tokens to colorize your old photos. This app has no hidden fees. The quality is the same if not more vibrant the the other app. You can adjust how much color you want to add & it also saves the pictures you’ve colorized too if you choose to do so. No old picture colorizing app is going to get it perfect. But there’s some photos that look so much better when color is added.
