We worked with Dr Chris Howard to apply concepts from cognitive psychology to our generative music algorithm, designed to play sounds and tones to relax the listener. This algorithm is coupled with a mesmerising interactive interface to engage the user in a state of flow.
ChillScape makes it easy to fit a dose of mindfulness into a busy schedule. People are using it to manage spells of anxiety, to help with their sleep routine or as warm-up to a traditional mediation session.

*** This is how it works ***
Each chill session starts with low pitched tones, similar to those experienced in the womb.
As you pop bubbles melodies play and the soundscape evolves. Layers of sound are gradually introduced - with frequencies known to stimulate calm and create feelings of euphoria.
Underneath the music there is a soft ‘pulse’ that gradually slows from 60 to 50 beats per minute through the session. A phenomenon called “entrainment” means that your breath and body will naturally try to follow this rhythm, consequently reducing your heart rate and blood pressure.
As you progress the generative audio engine will produce new sounds providing you with a continually evolving experience.
The new autoplay mode lets you use the app when your screen is off. Just close your eyes and enjoy the musical progression.
HealthKit integration and in-app stats let you keep track of the length of your sessions.

Excellent relaxing experience
I love when these devs put out a new app because they always go beyond my expectations. ChillScape is very relaxing and calming. For apps like this simplicity is key, yet the visual and auditory aspects must be interesting enough to retain your attention. They nailed both of these.
I doubt any app will ever exist that can replace actual deep mindfulness meditation, but when I have a few free minutes I really do enjoy sitting down with this app and letting myself stop thinking about everything and just enjoying what is going on on the screen, and this really does lead to a sense of calmness. Great job with this one.
This one of the Greatest Free Apps I have found! It’s simplicity is what I love about it! You only have to open up the app! No long detailed information or decisions to make. You can set the timer on that page which is so easy! Then start. I can take a 2minute break & just chill out with Chill Scape. In 2minutes I find myself letting go of the stresses which were bogging my mind down!! Love love love this Free App. Anyone can do it. Thanks

I honestly thought this was probably just one of those bs apps. I couldn’t have been more wrong. After having used it for the first time I’m amazed at how quickly and easily it cleared my mind and relaxes me. I will definitely be putting this app to GREAT use!! Thanks!!!
