Use Zimela to discover events, programs, and communities relevant to your career near you. On Zimela, you’ll also learn from the inspirational stories of others in your industry, and share pieces of your own.

What you’ll get to do with the Zimela app:
- Find industry relevant events, programs, and conferences near you
- Connect with the stories of friends and colleagues, and also get plugged in to relevant community groups
- Publicize events, programs, and other opportunities made to inspire others

What if there was a place where you could browse through different roles in an industry of interest, and follow the career journeys of people in the kind of place you want to be? What if you could easily share back your experiences with people who want to learn from them, and publicize helpful events, programs and community groups for those industries?

We think it’d be pretty cool too.

Zimela is a platform that gives control back to the individual, curating career resources (in the form of other’s stories, relevant events and programming, etc.) for others based on their interests and needs. People not only get jobs because of people they know, but also learn that the jobs exist from the same sources. Those people in our lives— the neighbor down the road, friend down the hall, acquaintance of a colleague at work— they have the information that helps direct us to our next steps. Let Zimela be that person for you, connecting you to the right plug.

Bad Bug I cannot sign up

The app is stuck in the demographics page for signup and I can’t get past it. The done button has informational text overlaying it and is not clickable. Looks like lots of great opportunities to connect but app is not usable beyond browse without an account. Please fix! It might be my ancient small iPhone SE but it’s what I got.

Support all women

I have worked in technology for almost 20 years and men use women especially if the women are smart and the infrastructure is man-centric. I want to see women of all backgrounds get ahead. I am a white woman who has been pulled down and back so many times. It was very toxic for me to test at x level and be told there are men who haven’t passed this test yet, so you have to wait. Or don’t mention your master’s degree here train these guys and watch them get promoted. I ultimately got cancers and had to quit, but eventually would like to go back. But I can’t stomach the toxicity towards women. I like the concept of this app. Women helping women is what I want to see. Thanks for what you are doing. - another Erika.

Wonderful idea, but needs some more fleshing out to be at full effectiveness

All the other reviews taking about how important this is YES.

A problem though is there doesn’t seem to be very fleshed out functionality. I would love to see an update that allows me to keep track of the opportunities I contribute. For example, how do I now if someone is interested? I do realize, though, that it’s still new and in development (as there are coming soon features such as the search bar). I’m excited to see where this goes :)
