Plenty of room for improvement
This should really be 3 1/2 stars, but I’ll be generous. Don’t get me wrong- this was fun and challenging without being impossibly hard to beat. And according to most people, the game is a pretty exact mirror of the Season 3 storyline, so... spoiler alert for those who haven’t seen it yet. But, those areas of Hawkins that you can’t access unless you beat the game... they’re still inaccessible afterwards. Those locked stores in the Square are still locked. The house next door to Mike’s is still empty. There’s no new errands to run. The thugs whose clubhouse is off the alley south of Melvald’s... they’re still there every time you go back, and all you get for beating them up is money that won’t buy you anything new. So for those of us who spent our 5 bucks and endured thousands of attacks from knife-throwers, poison-tossing scientists and those horrible crab-things, HOPEFULLY FUTURE UPDATES will give us another handful of bones to gnaw on. How about a high school hub? How about a simple D&D easter egg game in the Wheelers’ basement? How about giving Lucas and Erica a dang house to live in? Or the Byers clan, for that matter? Where’s the police station in town? Add a few new games to the Fair - there’s plenty of real estate there. How about an Upside Down level? There has to be something more to look forward to than, “yippee, now I get to play the whole thing over again, only this time with no reincarnation.”
Bad Controls and glitch
Game is excellent in terms of value and overall gameplay. I know this was imported from console but the controls are very tough especially on the iPhone. Buttons are super small. Regarding glitch, down in Hawkins lab, I can’t get past the “fuse” quest to get into the rift room. The “fuse” never shows up in the craft menu... game over!

This game is really adorable, but two glitches: I took the shake from Robin but then when I went to deliver to the guy at the pool he said I don’t have it. I saw several other people online with same problem and some found it when they searched out of view around Robin, but others (like me) never found it and had to restart. Not having the shake stops the whole story. Other glitch is having two characters press their buttons at the same time to get in Murray’s warehouse — I don’t see how one player on an iPad can make two players do an action at same time. Totally stuck now. Saw other people online stuck on this part too.
