Patch Me is an open source app that allows parents to track the eye patching time for their children.

The app provides a timer function to allow the parents to track how much time the child has been patched on a daily basis. It also keeps a historical record of patching times that can be used to help parents stay on track with the minimum recommendations for patching times provided by their children's provider.

Parents can share the patching records of their children with each other without needed to provide any personally identifiable information using the Record Key.

I created patch me as a way to contribute back to the community of providers that help treat and prevent Amblyopia in children.

This app is dedicated to my strong and beautiful daughter Aamani.

Great motivator for 5 year old!

My patching son absolutely loves having his very own app! It’s simple for him to use, and he can easily monitor his progress throughout the day. I highly recommend this for any parent with a child who patches. I will mention it to our pediatric ophthalmologist so she can recommend it to all her other patients. THANK YOU to the creator!!!
I just wish it went up to 600 minutes because my som is on a monitored, intense, short-term regiment of 9 hours on/3 hours off.

Thank you for your feedback. It is always good to hear from other parents that the app is helping with their children's patching!

Based on feedback such as yours, I recently updated the app to allow tracking of up to 600 minutes of patching time per day. Please let me know if you are not seeing that so that I can investigate further. You can report any issues with the app at

Love this app

So glad we found this app! It has everything we need I just wish it had an alarm or notification when time is up as we miss it sometimes and end up going a few minutes over unless we have it open. But otherwise it’s just what we were looking for 😊👌🏻

Thank you for your review and feedback. Currently the app does have push notifications, but a few things have to happen for you to receive it:

1. The app can't be in the foreground. It has to be either in the background or terminated for the notification.
2. The app has to have notification permissions. The first time you open the app on iOS device, it asks for permissions. If you said no at that time, you would have to go into settings and enable the notification permissions.
3. The phone has to be connected to the internet. If the phone is not connected to WiFi or the cellular data, the notification is not delivered to the phone.

If the above conditions are met, the notification is sent in the last 10 minutes when the patching time about to be completed.

I will keep on working to improve this area of the app so that notifications are sent and received regardless of some of the above conditions.

Love this app!

This has helped me so much with our patching journey! I only wish it had a notification if you haven’t entered data for the day which could essentially be a reminder to patch.

Thank you for your feedback. Notification/Reminder is a great idea that I have been thinking about as well. I will see what I can do to add such a feature to the app.
