Description

With a new AI engine, enjoy better protection from scammers, and funnier recordings of them getting frustrated!

For users of the Jolly Roger Telephone Company's phone protection services, now you can have your Call Log as an app on your phone. So instead of having to log into our website whenever you want to check your voicemail, you can now just startup this app and review and listen to your calls.

Subscribers to Jolly Roger already have several ways to be notified when new messages arrive:
- they can receive text messages with the first couple of seconds transcribed
- they can receive emails with full mp3 recordings attached
- they can login to the Jolly Roger website, and review the Call Log page

And to all of these options, we now add the convenience of using an app directly on your smartphone device: the Captain's Log! The first time you use it, you will be asked to login with to your Jolly Roger account, but from then on, your Call Log will be always immediately available for you to check and listen to messages.

Works pretty well

It does what it claims. I can access all the recordings and black/whitelist right in the app.
The addition to imprt your contacts to auto-whitelist is fantastic, but it should use that info to populate names on the VM homepage when it finds phone number matches against the contact import. Should probably show the contact photo when available as well. Have your Product Owner call me. I'd love to help.

Horrible Execution

I saw this company on Shark Tank and wanted to love it, but the concept execution is absolutely awful. Both this app and the website are clunky, difficult to navigate, and reminds me of early dialup internet where everyone had a homepage that was “under construction”. I’m honestly impressed that anyone is still featuring the company with this mediocre execution, and can only assume it’s for the novelty.

I’ve yet to get a call (other than the test option which was also poorly explained) so I can’t speak to full functionality, but I also can’t listen to the recording on the app. It just doesn’t work. The website is no help either; I can’t even find a list of calls.

I’ll give it a shot for another week or two before I pull the plug, but in the meantime I implore the developers to gather a group of young tech experts to help them truly get in the game.

Great for me, terrible for telemarketers!

I can’t tell you how much the JRT has done for me! I’d get 3-6 telemarketing calls a day, which would be more than annoying. Now, the only calls I get are the ones that I’ve white listed (the ones in my contacts or that I’ve added manually). Perfect!

I do appreciate the added ability to turn on/off the service when needed (such as waiting for an important call, but not knowing their number). Makes it so much easier!

It is a odd that the current app version is shown to be 14.7.4 and my installed version is 14.7.8
