COVIDaware MN has improved the accessibility of the application and provided more support for symptom reporting to keep your community safe.

COVIDaware MN is the official exposure notification app of the State of Minnesota. With the COVIDaware MN app, your phone gets notified when you may have been exposed to COVID-19. The app is built with privacy-preserving Exposure Notification technology developed by Apple and Google in partnership with the nonprofit PathCheck Foundation. COVIDaware MN exchanges anonymous Bluetooth keys with other app users when you are within 6 feet of each other for more than 15 minutes. If an app user reports they tested positive for COVID-19, the phones they exchanged keys with are anonymously notified. The notifications let Minnesotans know when they should take extra care and get tested. Nobody ever knows your location or identity, and no information on the use of this app can be traced back to you.

COVIDaware MN is made available by the State of Minnesota to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. Like wearing a mask, social distancing, and washing hands, it adds another layer to our defense against the virus. No single layer is completely effective by itself, but when used together, they make us all safer. The app is part of a comprehensive contact tracing initiative managed by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). If you test positive for COVID-19, an MDH contact investigator will provide a test verification code you enter into the COVIDaware MN app. After you enter the verification code, other app users will be anonymously notified that they were near someone who has recently tested positive. No personal data or location tracking occurs within this app. The app’s source code is available to the public and has been carefully inspected by privacy and security experts. Full privacy anonymous covid tracking

Great app! I’ve been a big fan of this technology since April and am excited that it’s finally in Minnesota. Because of how it works, it’s totally anonymous and privacy centered. Everyone can feel great about knowing ALL of their personal info is safe, AND they are doing their part to stay safe.

I’d encourage all Minnesotans to download this app so we can have another tool to combat this pandemic!

More Minnesotans need this app!

Potentially lifesaving technology that gets more and more effective the more people have it downloaded. Plus, it’s 100% secure, and can in no way violate your privacy- heck, the app wouldn’t even know anything about you that it could tell anyone else. If you live in Minnesota, you NEED this app on your phone. ASAP.

Simple thing to help stop spread.

This app is really simple and has the potential to help stop Covid19.

I’m glad Minnesota launched it like other states. Looking into the documentation, it collects almost no data and what data it does collect I control.

I hope it takes off, with this second wave we need all the help we can get.
