Doesn’t sync, not idea for hands free follow along programming

I just purchased the assault fitness runner (absolutely love it- it’s amazing) and was excited to see they had an app. However, it has a ways to go to be developed. I don’t understand why there is a Bluetooth option as I can’t get the information from the runner to sync with my phone. Other than saying it’s connected to the runner via Bluetooth, there is no data getting fed to the app. Also, the written Workouts aren’t exactly user friendly. It’s a timer with some text telling you what exercise to do, when and for how long/distance. While the phone can rest on the touch pad, you no longer can see the data on the touchscreen. Example: a program tells you to sprint for a certain distance, but because you may have placed your phone on the screen and the program isn’t feeding data to the phone, you have to then move the phone to see where your stats are at. It’s just a written exercise with a timer. Not ideal if you just want to get up and go and follow along. It’s great programming but obnoxious to navigate when trying to keep your HR up.

Constantly Crashing

This app consistently crashes. You lose all the stats you’ve earned. All workouts you completed will disappear. Any friends will go away along with your profile information. You have to start over. It’s very frustrating. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that has good workouts and fun to compete with my wife.

Unfortunately, not very good

I actually purchased the upgraded console for my Assault Bike Classic separately, as I wanted to try to capture my data in Apple Fitness or Garmin Connect or something.

As folks have noted, it does not have any data integration that I can see. Data needs to be manually entered post workout. Which leads me to my next issue.

The app randomly “resets” during my workout. I hit the BT button on the console, verify the console is seen in the app under settings > Bluetooth, and start my workout. I then set my phone down and start my workout. When I finish and go to select end workout in the app, at LEAST 1/2 the time the app has reset back to the main page.

The first time I used the app, both the console and app connected to my Polar H10 HRM. Now if it connects/records 1 out of 10 times I am fortunate. It works fine on every Garmin, Sole, Concept and Wahoo device without fail. That may not be the apps fault, but it adds to the frustration. Coupled with the infrequent and vague updates released by Assault, I cannot rely on the app.

Sorry Assault - great equipment, awful app and integration platform. I suspect developing a basic app to provide rudimentary integration would not be THAT expensive or difficult. Heck - I would even pay a small subscription fee if that is what it would take.
