Ideal Casual Puzzle Game

This game is quite fun. It’s a perfect game to pick up and play if you only have a moment. But, it is equally ideal for lounging around and playing for a while continuously. The game hits all the marks for a casual puzzle game.

The objective of the game is to get your small square to the checkpoint by navigating through obstacles, utilizing the touch screen to turn the entire map 90 degrees at a time.

The gameplay itself is unique and engaging. However, it can be a bit difficult to get used to. Even after playing for a while, I often found myself disoriented and would still turn the screen the opposite of the way I intended. The movement style has other options to choose from though, if you find one way to be too difficult or inconvenient. You can swipe to turn the map, or you can simply tap, along with some other finer details in the settings section.

The music is very cool. It’s a smooth electronic ambient music. Very relaxing and not distracting from gameplay in any way. No sound effects, just background music. Definitely worth leaving the sound on if that’s your style.

The level design is nice in that you are allowed to play whatever level you want to, in any order you like. There are different sections of puzzles grouped by letter. Once you’ve completed all the puzzles in a group, you will receive a grade for your ability to get the shortest time, or number of moves. This aspect provides good replay value, testing yourself to get the top rank, which is quite challenging to do. There is also an online leaderboard so you can see how you compare to other players.

The puzzles offer a little guidance for the first couple levels, but the game does indeed become quite challenging. You might be stumped on some for a very long time. It’s a good level of difficulty and satisfying to complete. The game slowly introduces new obstacles or mechanics which you have to learn and master as you move forward. The game does a very good job of balancing the difficulty and fun of solving the puzzles.

Definitely worth its price. The game is very similar to one of my other favorite iOS games called, Unitied. If you enjoy this game, or that game, then you’ll enjoy both.
