Mp3tag is a powerful and easy-to-use tool to edit metadata of audio files. Musicians, DJs, podcasters, and audio-enthusiasts use it for many different aspects of handling audio files.
It supports batch tag-editing for multiple files at once, covering many audio formats from MP3, over MP4, and M4V (yes, that's video!) to FLAC, OGG, OPUS, AIF, DSF, MPC, and WAV.
Furthermore, it supports online database lookups from Discogs and MusicBrainz, allowing to gather proper tags and download cover art for music libraries.
It offers renaming files based on the tag information, replacing characters or words in tags and filenames, importing tag information, and adjusting the size and image format of embedded cover art.
Since some of the tasks in managing a digital library are repetitive, Mp3tag allows for combining tasks into action groups, which serve as workflows for keeping consistency and order. Examples are formatting tag fields, performing case conversion, removing unwanted fields, or adjusting embedded cover art to match required sizes.

Long time fan of this utility
This has been such a quality utility for such a long time. I remember discovering Mp3tag ages ago when it was only available for Windows. There was a makeshift unofficial version for Mac at some point too, which was pretty good, but then the official Mac version came about not long ago and it's just great. This is a tool that every audiophile should have. There's just nothing like having 100% control over your audio files, richness in the tags and metadata and album covers, and integration / import ability from Discogs makes this a powerhouse application, yet so light and simple too. Florian is an excellent developer and belongs in some hall of fame for digital music all-stars / archival pioneers / software engineering extraordinaires. As a developer myself, Mp3tag is a source of inspiration. Thank you Florian.
The most important app for digital music lovers, period
This app has been the backbone (for years on PC, now I solely use it on Mac) for eons. No other app can handle massive libraries and and tasks like Mp3tag can... if you're meticulous about your library and want everything uniform and tidy, this is the only app you'll ever need, doing these sorts of things in the Apple Music app just pales in comparison... Florian is one of the best developers I've ever come across, his dedication and love for his craft and this app are unparalleled... I encourage you to subscribe to the newsletter to get a glimpse into his though processes and inspiration!
Thank you, Florian, for all your hard work!
Best software to manage all my audio files, including audibooks
Have been using this for years. Finally, the macOS version.
I love it as it does everything so well and so intelligent. Because of this application, all my songs are well organzied, named, labeled etc.
I can't find anywhere else that has build-in all the features. The one I used the most is naming a large group of files or tag based on certain logic. It is done beautifully and intelligently.
If you like me using Music app (or any other app) to auto organized all the songs, audibooks, etc, this is absolutely the best app out there.
