Description

Navi adds subtitles and Live Translation to your FaceTime calls through SharePlay.

Enable subtitles and see them on top of the FaceTime video window. The app opens FaceTime up to people with hearing impairments and other disabilities that prevent them from engaging easily in a video call environment.

Navi generates subtitles locally on device and transmits them over the secured SharePlay connection to the other people on the call. This ensures the privacy of every conversation.

Navi works between macOS and iOS, with each version having their own unique experience.

If you want to translate incoming subtitles you can purchase Translation Tokens.

Fixed:
- The overlay no longer can become unresponsive in certain scenarios
- The correct language is now used when starting new SharePlay call with iOS user
- Switching the language during a call now works again

It’s a great start!

Just tried the SharePlay feature and it was great. Live text appeared in 0.5secs. Although the accuracy of some words were a bit off, it was a great experience.

Thanks for the feedback! I have some improvements planned for the next few weeks that might improve the accuracy of the words. It should get better over time with updates to the system as well, but I'll make sure to stay on top of it! - Jordi

Will keep using for now

It was very hit or miss today. My girlfriend is Colombian and thought this would be easier for her, she sometimes needs to use more complex Spanish that I don’t know yet. The translation would just pause and sometimes just plain stop working. We would have to keep resetting the app to get it to work for only a few minutes. I’ll keep it for now and update rating if they can smooth things out.

Good idea

The interface is a little weird as it only shows one line of text at a time and only picks up my voice instead of the other person who I’m FaceTiming with. Which is why I wanted this app to be able to see what the other person is saying. Maybe add more of a better subtitle format and make it so my voice isn’t picked up only the recipients voice.

Hi, that's not what's supposed to happen! It should be fixed in the latest version of the app if both people are running that version. Would love to hear back from you how it's working now. Jordi
