Fun collection of cult, offbeat, and horror
I’m really enjoying this and it has titles I’m not seeing anywhere else. They seem to have worked out the technical issues others have reported during the first few weeks.
Kino Cult
They used to have a wide selection of movies available to watch on their site, but it seems to be down now, so I downloaded the app, and found a really, really limited selection of movies — and only a very few of this new, limited selection look worth watching. I would rate this app even lower (half star), if possible; I have seen several of these movies before, and I probably could see the others that look interesting to me in an evening or two. Ugh; I’ll probably just delete this app if they don’t get more/better movies ASAP — it’s pretty much a waste of space for now.
Great movies, ads not so much
There is some really good genre stuff here and unique indie gems, but the ads are so frequent and repetitive it is almost impossible to watch. Is there a way to at least program them to appear in a somewhat natural spot? They happen not only in the middle of scenes, but in the middle of shots. Several times they appeared again after just 30 seconds of program. It’s too much. I’d love to support the platform but I can’t get through a movie.
