Put your most important task or goal in the menu bar. Its presence there will help remind you without being annoying.

Use the app for anything you want. Maybe you just want to put your dog's (or cat's) name in the menu bar. That's ok too.
You can use Markdown to style the text with bold, italic, and strikethrough. And you can even add links.
The app also comes with support for Shortcuts, share extension, system service, and scripting.
Tip: You can drag & drop text directly onto the menu bar item. For example, from your todo app.
See the website on how to integrate One Thing with apps like Reminders, Things, etc.
The app is free without ads because I love making apps. Consider leaving a nice review.
You can contact me through the feedback button in the app or at email@example.com. I'm especially interested in hearing about creative uses of this app.
- You can now add a permanent prefix and suffix to the text (in the settings window). You could, for example, use this to add more spacing around the text or make the text more visible by using some emojis.

Grateful for this 🙏🏼
I have tried...too many ways to put a digital sticky note on my screen that stays present and visible at all times, but stays out of the way so I can get things done. I now have a bright yellow, bold text reminder in my menu bar, and it's fantastic. For anyone who is prone to yak shaving, diving down rabbit holes, or otherwise being easily distracted, like me, this is a really valuable, simple way to stay reminded of the one thing I should re-focus on.
To Sindre: they say the universe returns what you put out in the world. The universe owes you unlimited good vibes. Thanks for all the cool stuff you put out there for the nerds. I, for one, really appreciate your efforts. ☮️
Love it and really appreciate the scripting functionality
This app is really useful for me because I'm always getting sidetracked when I have to work on large/overwhelming tasks and it serves as a reminder to get back on track when I see it. I also really appreciate the ability to script any text into the app for which the developer has written up a wonderful How To guide. Thanks so much for this awesome little app!
A simple concept, executed beautifully
It's such a simple concept, but having a dedicated always-present space to keep a current focus item has been a really nice way to keep on task!
Beautifully simple and, dare I say, perfect execution of the idea.
