Wyzr is the smarter, safer activity-based friendship app connecting adults with shared interests online and in-person.
Imagine having “go-to” friends for concerts, a spontaneous coffee, or a day at the museum. With Wyzr’s proprietary Friend Blast feature, members can make scheduled or impromptu plans with select matches on the App with just one tap. Members can organize groups or events (like a quick game of pickleball or trivia night), or simply catch up with friends effortlessly. Wyzr also takes eco-consciousness to the next level with its unique ride share feature (known as Wyzr Ride), which allows members to select their date, time and destination and share a ride for free (to/from a sporting event, concert, or shopping when parking is difficult and expensive!). Unlike most singularly focused friendship and activity apps, Wyzr allows both Singles and Couples to match with each other. Creating profile has limitations
Update: very impressed that the company founders reached out to me to discuss my feedback, updated some of the categories of interests per my suggestion (including adding other), and were very professional and interested in bettering their product. I really love the concept of this app and now realize they are definitely willing to take suggestions and are working to make it better. Original: I tried to create a profile but was forced to put in an occupation and a bio. Then I had to choose 6 interests out of a list, of which I didn’t have 6 matches. There was no “other” or ability to add my interests. At this point I deleted the partial profile as I assumed if I didn’t have interests that fit their list, I wouldn’t be able to connect with anyone. Too bad - the concept is a good one, but the creation of the profile is way too limited.
Needs tweaking
I can see this being a fun way to meet friends but one been on it for one hour and have encountered several annoyances already. There aren’t enough ways to explain who you are, what you like, what you want. Your are limited in interest choices, and the bio box is too short. You then get friend requests from people all over the country, mostly men, even if you put a closer radius and only want to make female friends. How many ways can I demonstrate I’m married without some guy 2000 miles away hitting me up for “friends”? If I wanted a dating app I would sign up for one. It’s a waste of time and makes me feel uncomfortable. And the song at the beginning of the app is unnecessary. Having the words merrily scroll across the page would be better than feeling like you are tuning into Golden Girls over and over. Or just the music, no vocals. I know this just launched and I hope the developers read these comments.
A Refreshing Way to Meet New People!!
I’ve tried a few apps to meet new people, but Wyzr stands out because it’s not about swiping or dating – it’s really focused on connecting with others through shared activities. I’ve met a couple of great people already and found some cool local events through the app.
The setup is easy, and I like that you can verify your profile if you want, but it’s not mandatory. One small thing – sometimes it says there aren’t any friends nearby, but I just adjust the distance and find more options.
Overall, it’s a great app for building real friendships and getting out of the house Wyzr has actually connected me to friends that I really like — whatever what a refreshing way to meet new people!
