Warhorse Games & present Blackbeard's Assault!

Ahoy Matey! The object of this fast-paced puzzle game is to remove all the balls as they travel along a path. Simply tap where you want to fire. When you match 3 or more balls of the same color, the group will be removed and you will earn points.

After you remove a group, if the colors on each end match then they will come together and create a chain reaction. This will give you huge bonus points and push the line back.

You will lose a life if the balls get to the end of the path. Don't worry, you can save yourself by using the many power-ups that are available, such as bombs, color removers, chain-shots, and more!

Blast from the past!

I’d forgotten this game. It’s not very high resolution on iPad, but still fun, and I appreciate the developer taking the effort to bring it to modern devices!

Take the Plunge...

Great little addition to the game genre. It stays close enough to the original but has a few little wrinkles of it's own to make it stand out. I love the look and feel of the game and think that everything runs very smooth. Extra credit for not only giving it a theme, but a storyline as well. Sure it's just a little break between boards, but it's still nice to have.

I was a little worried in the first game (on normal even) when right off the bat there were cannon balls very close to the "X". It seemed like they were there a little fast and I thought I was about to lose the game within the first few seconds. Then I remembered the special shots and was able to give myself a little breathing room. But it did seem a little odd for a low level round to be so crowded right off the bat.

The controls take a little getting use to because if you get a little frantic you'll forget which cannon you're firing from, but that just comes with practice. And I guess you've got to show you've got steady hands if you want to wear the Captain's Hat.

Good for fans of both genres (game and pirate), so if you like either one give it a try. I would really love a game like this but with Zombies marching forward. I can stand in my tower and blast them away... just throwing that out there for any developers who are looking for something to make for the iPhone...

All around - one of the best games on the store

I picked up the trial version of Blackbeard's Assault, as I do with most games that also have "lite" editions. However, unlike most games, I immediately went back to the app store to buy the full game. The graphics are simple, but well done. The sound effects and music are top notch. The gameplay - classic "Zuma", but with multiple cannons per level - is fantastic. The little story sections in between levels are fairly uninteresting, but a cool option all the same. I was able to get though the 20 stages the game has to offer in a little under an hour, but that was only on the easiest difficulty. If you're a fan of Zuma, but were turned off by Puzzloop's difficulty and price, you should definitely check out Blackbead's Assault.
