I would greatly enjoy having to fly around and find things rather than engage in fighting.
A bit limited, but nice start
The flight physics are pretty nice actually. The graphics are very nicely done. It's really not bad at all. But it lacks many characteristics that make it compelling to play. Most problematic are the controls. They are placed in the most awkward of places. Adjusting the throttle while moving is very uncomfortable. This could benefit greatly by simply making a slider control on the right, and throttle on the left, much like X Plane Helicopter.
Generally the missions lack any depth or creativity. They feel like generic missions with nothing interesting happening at all. The arena is also far too small.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I really believe these are the games biggest hurdles, once corrected and improved in each area, will surely make this a very very fun and well made game. Otherwise, it's current path will lead it to oblivion faster than any reviews.
This game has so much potential. I love the style of it and game play, but the controls are the biggest problem. For those on the fence, it's not so much that they are "lousy" it's just that it's very "sim" type controls and not "arcade." If you've never had a problem with these tpyes of control schemes, then this is definetely a full five star game. If however you've always been better or prefered the arcade type, then you may want to hold off for a lite version to test it out first. For me, i cant get to first base controlling this and i've been trying since last night. I try to turn, and the copter moves very slowly. Attempted to calibrate, but the button does nothing when i press it. For me, it's five stars on the style of game, but sadly one star for controls. If the Devs put in an optional alternative control method, then i will update this review. But as it stands now, i'll give this an overall 2 stars.
