Good. But could be better
The update made some good changes. But some functionality is missing. There isn't a list of stores anymore so that I can see what stores are in the mall and then click on the name to easily find the store on the map. They do have a search option where you can type the name and find it, but it was nice to be able to see the store list so that I could see what stores there were in the mall without having to do a one by one search. For example, you used to be able to see all kids stores, or women's shoes. But now you have to either search by name or just look around the map. The 3D view is pointless. It's still a flat map so why make it 3D. Just the ability to spin the map around. But the 3D view just makes it hard to control the angle view. Additionally, not all store names are displayed all the time like it used to be. Now you have to vary the zoom in and out so you can see the store name. The is really not helpful when trying to see what stores are around.
New update crashes on launch. We don’t have new iOS yet, why post fix for future versions and break the current. Reboot of phone did not fix. If re install is needed the update was not an update but replacement. Call it that.
Developer Response ,
My apologies for the crash. It's been fixed in 5.11.1 which is now available. It was a complex bug in migrating some data between past versions of the app that only revealed itself now. This new version 5.11.1 fully fixes the issue. Note that none of the app's versions to date have addressed iOS 12 in any way, as iOS 12 is still in beta. We'll be ready for iOS 12 close to when Apple ships it. What we did do in the last release is add support for per-venue icons and 3d objects, in prep for richer Point Inside maps to be published and downloaded by this app in future. That had nothing to do with the crash issue, and we regularly update our apps to support near-future improvements to our maps. Again, am very sorry for the crash situation in last few days for some users, but it's fixed now and we've changed our approach to cached data migrations to avoid a repeat in future. Also please feel free to use the feedback button in the app for communication with us, as we read all feedback closely and we often reach back out to our users about their ideas, requests, and concerns. All the Best!
Fast, accurate, and simple to use. I think it is a great app. 👍
