Description
With Call a Bike you are always spontaneously and flexibly mobile. Whether on the way to work, in the evening or during a city trip, with Call a Bike you can rent a bike cheaply at anytime and anywhere in Germany.
A total of 13.000 bicycles are available in over 80 cities - including the StadtRÄDER from Hamburg & Lüneburg.
In the app, all bikes are displayed on an interactive map and can be rented on site via QR code or by entering the bike number.
Now you can pause a ride at any time! Simply activate it in the app. Then push the red lever on the lock down. Your paused bike is marked red on the map.
To return the bike, simply drive to a station and press the lock lever down. Do you want to spontaneously park your bike outside our stations? No problem! With only 1 Euro Flex-Fee you are flexible. A service fee applies in the grey areas of the map. You can see the details of your journey and the costs at any time in your bookings. Other options within the app: redeem voucher codes, report damage and manage your customer account.
Now you can pause a ride at any time!

Berlin: since November 2022 return of Bikes only possible at stations
We will now inform you in the app and by text message if you have returned a bike outside a station. Then you have 5 minutes to decide whether you
- want to continue the ride and park the bike at a station
- or simply pause your ride.
After 5 minutes left, we will charge a service fee of minimum 10 € for returning a bike outside a station.

Be careful Call A Bike hardly works and overcharges
The pause didn’t work so I was charged 10Euro since the bike had been parked outside of a station area. I tried to rent a few more bikes later in the day and the app failed each time - not consistent. Today (2weeks later), I received a 90Euro bill and I haven’t been in Berlin or Germany for 10days, apparently the meter was still running. Denying them via my credit card and will seek a correction on my account. Horrible experience for something that should be simple and enjoyable. Great idea, epic fail on execution and technology.
Such a scam! Paid over 30 euros for 4 hours!
The app is a completely fail! I took the bike to go around Berlin and every time i tried to pause it was finishing our ride and charging for being out of the zone! Ended paying more than 30 euros in four hours, and the bike was returned in the same place it started in front of check point Charlie.
Do not use!!!!!!!!! Can’t stress that enough
Unreliable app and support team. Went to visit the Olympic Center and my bike would not unlock because the app didn’t register I had a booking (even though I had just used the bike to get there). I had to walk a very far distance to my hotel.
They do not have a support team you can contact.
